British Supermodel Agyness Deyn lied about her aged to get her foot in the modelling door (she’s not the only one!), whilst Jessica Chastain has not only found fame, but is now a clothes horse for designers everywhere.
It appears British supermodel Agyness Deyn aka ‘Agy’, aka Laura Hollins hasn’t been entirely truthful when it comes to the, uh, important details on her resume. Despite having acquired a new name like many famous faces such as Lana Del Rey (Lizzie Grant), Agyness has now confessed she had been lying about her age.
With her youthful androgyny, short platinum blonde crop and boyish figure, the model appeals to a younger generation and has fronted edgy campaigns for Burberry and Armarni.
Deyn is more relatable to the young and trendy who frequent cities like Brooklyn and Downtown Los Angeles, making her an emerging fashion inspiration for the new era of fashion lovers.
She 29 year old has had the world thinking she was actually 23 (with no question!) and confesses, “When I decided I would really do modeling I was like 18, and I think at the time, that was quite old for a new face, so we knocked off a few years.”
What a harsh reality we live in if 18 is considered an ‘old face’! Do you think the lie was worth it? Fresh faced Agyness has already made millions and her career is getting ready to bloom, a far cry from her humble beginnings working in a chip shop in Lancashire at the age of 18.
There are some reports that suggests ‘The Help’ actress, Jessica Chastain has knocked off a few years herself, making her 35 as opposed to 30. What do you think?
Jessica Chastain’s fame has given her ‘amazing’ access to designer clothes. The 30-year-old (well, there-abouts) actress – who received an Oscar nomination for her role in ‘The Help’ – says one of the perks of her increasing profile is that fashion designers want to dress her.
She said, “I now have more access, which is amazing. I’ve always wanted to wear stuff like this, I’ve just never been given the access. That’s what has changed for me.” Although Jessica – who has recently worn gowns by Vivienne Westwood, Balenciaga, Elie Saab and Georgio Armani – admits she avoids certain looks because she doesn’t think she can carry them off.
The ‘Tree of Life’ star told People Magazine, “I’m not a model, and everything looks better when you’re six feet tall and you’re gorgeous and rail thin. On the runway, everything looks better. I can’t do [some] outfits justice, so I will not go there.”
But having been included in Vogue’s top ten ‘Oscars Best Dressed’ list for her Alexander McQueen dress, it looks like her style sense is serving her well.
