Ashley Benson Pretty Little Liars Photoshop Outrage
Ashley Benson has taken to Instagram, slamming some pretty heavy-handed Photoshopping in the latest Pretty Little Liars poster.
Posting a picture of the offending advertisement, she wrote, “Saw this floating around…. hope it’s not the poster,” adding, “Our faces in this were from 4 years ago…..and we all look ridiculous,” she added. “Way too much photo shop. We all have flaws. No one looks like this. It’s not attractive.”
“Remember, you are ALL beautiful,” she continued. “Please don’t ever try and look like the people you see in the magazines or posters because it’s fake. It only causes an unhealthy mind about how you see yourself. You are perfect the way you are.”
Ashley’s co-star Troian Bellisario agreed, posting “Wow @itsashbenzo I couldn’t agree more. Very cool concept as always. But aren’t we attractive enough women as we are? Why can’t we just look like us. Once.”
This is the latest saga in the increasingly regular backlash against extreme Photo-shopping of celebrities.
A representative for the television show refused to comment.
We know that the show is called Pretty Little Liars — but this is maybe taking the whole concept a little too far…
Susan Sarandon Stoned…A Lot
Susan Sarandon has admitted that she was high for the majority of award shows she has attended!
Playing a game on a talk show, Susan was asked to name one major Hollywood event she had attended under the influence.
“Only one?” she asked, “I would say almost all except the Oscars!”
The actress has been nominated for five Academy Awards, and won an Oscar in 1995 for her role in Dead Man Walking.
Even though she was refreshingly honest about her tendency to get stoned before awards shows, her lips were sealed when asked about her hottest Hollywood hookups.
She also claimed to have not one regret about acting roles she had taken, telling the audience that she learned something from every film she had appeared in.
Golden Globe Nominees
The Golden Globe nominations have been handed down from on high, and as expected, our very own Cate Blanchett has been nominated for Best Actress for her role in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine.
Cate has been almost universally lauded for her turn as the fallen socialite, Jasmine, and is widely tipped as an Oscar favourite.
She’s up against some tough competition, vying with Sandra Bullock for Gravity, Meryl Streep in August: Osage County, Judi Dench in Philomena and Emma Thompson in Saving Mr Banks.
The ladies are scooping up the nominations for Australia this year, with Portia de Rossi and Isla Fischer nominated as members of the Arrested Development cast for Best Ensemble in a Series.
Gravity, America Hustle and Captain Phillips all received several nominations in areas including Best Motion Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay.
As expected, leading nominees for television shows were Girls, Breaking Bad, House of Cards and Behind the Candelabra.
We can’t wait to find out the winners — but mostly we can’t wait for a chance to watch Tina Fey and Amy Poehler team up as hosts again!
