The beauty looks from Day Three of MBFWA kept up a high standard of ‘wow’, from Babushka dolls at Alice McCall to a rainbow of hair extensions at Lisa Ho.
In one of the standout looks of Day Three the models at Alice McCall (pictured) were polished and braided, reminiscent of Russian Bubushka dolls. The lip was stained only in the middle with Maybelline Ravishing Ruby for that ‘just bitten’ look.
Nigel Stanislaus, Maybelline NY Makeup Director, “Inspired by the Babooshka doll, the Alice McCall look is feminine yet playful. It beautifully combines flushed cheeks and a just-biten lip with glossy defined lashes and a soft wash of color on the lids for a doe-eyed finish”. For the hair ghd stylist, Sophie oberts went for the soft and romantic look, with a loose braid serving as a head-band on the models.
The models at Lisa Ho were transformed in smouldering seductresses, with a dark, smokey eye the focal point of the look, enhanced by the silky skin from a cream-base effect.
A stiff, middle part with yellow, orange, purple or red extensions adding youthfulness and playful element to the look. Kenneth Stoddart from Redken explains the inspiration and how we can get the look at home.
Bec and Bridge left us dreaming of lying poolside somewhere in the Meditteranean.
“It’s poolside sophistication,” Alan White (ghd) said using the increasingly popular wet-look hairstyle for the Bec & Bridge show. “She lives on the Almafi Coast, she’s jumped in the pool and she’s lounging in the sun letting her hair dry naturally.”
The makeup also achieved a wet-look, with the models sporting dewy complexions thanks to MAC Cosmetics. A peachy-coloured blush was used on the cheeks and brown bone to give a sun-kissed edge. We love!
Over at the Oroton’s debut SS 12-13 Collection Show, Renya Xydis created one of the standout hair look of the day, a deconstructed and wearable take on corn rows which was gathered at the nape into a textured, low ponytail. With a South American feel, the hair was inspired by Oroton’s main print in the collection, which features a plaited/woven style rope.
