2. Fifty Dresses that Changed the World, by Design Museum ($15.00 plus shipping from Amazon) is the book for fashionistas who love their history. From Audrey Hepburn’s black Givenchy sheath to Queen Victoria, it catalogues the 50 dresses that changed the way we see fashion and women.

12. Anna Coroneo for Net-a-Porter’s silk pineapple scarf ($83) is even more covetable because it’s by an Aussie designer. Coroneo was born in Sydney, and her delicious fruit-print scarves have been snapped up by Net-a-Porter and other big retailers. Get on the bandwagon now while they’re still affordable.
13. DKNY’s crystal and twill collar ($105) is the easy way to add drama to an outfit. Put it in a stocking for a friend who likes embellishment – the crystals on the collar bring evening flair to a daytime staple.
14. Adidas by Stella McCartney’s yoga mat ($83) is a classic for the sporty mate who still loves her fashion. The Stella McCartney line has been a sell-out for Adidas, and any piece would be a fantastic gift for athletes, but the yoga mat in glam pale blue is a must for the yoga devotees.
