Kate Moss’s Wedding Fever
The fashion world is captivated by the upcoming Royal Wedding. Forget Catherine and What’s-his-name – this is Kate Moss and Jamie Hince we’re talking about.
The dress? Apparently it’s John Galliano! Even though he’s been having vicious legal trouble, he’s been apparently spending hours in his atelier fixing the dress for one of his oldest friends.
The photographer? Mario Testino. Something tells us that this won’t be the usual kissing-on-the-beach wedding shoot.
The ring? It’s worth 28,000 pounds – and Moss thought she lost it this weekend at Glastonbury. After spending two hours rooting around in the mud, she found it – it had been in her purse the whole time.
See, stars are just like us… maybe.
John Galliano’s Replacement Named
It’s been confirmed – Galliano will never work for Dior again, and his successor, for the John Galliano label at least, has been identified.
Bill Gaytten, the creative partner of Galliano for 23 years, is the new creative director of the disgraced designer’s eponymous label. “It’s the same job for me,” said Gaytten when interviewed, but admitted he’s “dying to know what John thinks.”
However, it’s still unclear whether Gaytten will do the bulk of the designing, or whether he’ll bring in some fresh faces to become the creative forces behind the label.
As for Galliano himself, the head of LVMH, Bernard Arnault, who owns Dior, has said, on the record, that he will not work for any LVMH company.
His trial for hate speech finished last week, with his defense centring on his addiction to pills (including Ambien) and his reaction to the deaths of close friends. He’ll be sentenced (or acquitted) in September. Rumours continue to fly about where he’ll go next. Apparently Galliano has been focussing on rehab and addiction therapy, but an LVMH head confided that there had been problems for “years”. Top model Natalia Vodianova, who has worked with everybody from L’Oreal to Louis Vuitton, has announced her divorce.
Vodianova married the British aristocrat Justin Portman in 2002 in St Petersburg, in a Tom Ford dress, and they went on to have three children who starred with Natalia and Justin in a 2008 Mario Testino Vogue pictorial. They apparently argued viciously the first time they met at a party, and married soon after. Now, Vodianova has announced that they have separated – and that she is in love with a new partner. The fashion world had been brewing with news of the split for nearly a year, since Natalia turned up at a Stella McCartney show with her three children – and without Portman. With both Vodianova and Karen Elson back on the market, oligarchs and hedge fund managers the world over must be grooming themselves with new vigour.

War At The Spring Fashion Shows
It’s battles with stilettos at four paces at the Spring Paris fashion shows.
Carine Roitfeld, the ex-editor of Vogue Paris, has been banned from every show by her replacement, Emmanuel Alt. Nobody knows why, but the women have long been professional – and personal – rivals.
Now Roitfeld has found a way in – she’ll be impersonating a client at the couture shows for an upcoming issue of W Magazine, which will allow her to access all areas.
Neat trick – but this war is far from over.

Hussein Chalayan Opens Up About Feeling ‘Devastated’
Hussein Chalayan has given a revealing interview to Vogue UK about just how gutted he was when Tom Ford chose to work with Stella McCartney in 2001 instead of him.
Apparently they met up a few times and Chalayan became excited and hopeful – but Ford eventually decided to go elsewhere, and he was left ‘devastated’.
Tom Ford thought he was too avant-garde, but Chalayan – who has earned accolades for his incredibly innovative designs – might be getting the last laugh, as Lady Gaga is now one of his most fervent fans.
