Halloween is well on its way and, although it may not be a big deal in Australia, the American’s take it very seriously meaning all out favourite stars get dressed up and celebrate. We take a look at what the Queen of Halloween, Heidi Klum, will be wearing.
A piece of Madonna’s past has been sold at auction for a 40 thousand pounds over its pre-sale estimate. Read on to find out what it is that attracted such an incredible bid.
Adrian Grenier is in Sydney right now and took some time out for an exclusive party at The Star.
Monkey Business for Heidi Klum
Supermodel Heidi Klum is undoubtedly the Queen of Halloween. Every year she sends our jaws to the floor with her incredibly innovative Halloween costumes.
This year, she’s given us a sneak peak of not one but two of the costumes she’ll be wearing and both are as fabulous as we’ve come to expect. The first is an anatomically-correct body suit called ‘Visible Woman’ which the 38-year-old kid at heart described to people as, “…kind of like a dead body with the first layer of skin ripped off. It’s basically like me naked…All my veins and blood will all be visible. You don’t feel quite naked with it because it’s so colourful.”
The ‘Visible Woman’ will be appearing at TAO Nightclub at the Venetian in Las Vegas where Klum is hosting their Halloween party but, naturally, it’s not the only party the Project Runway star will be hosting.
In New York City she’ll be donning an ape suit for her annual All Hallows’ Eye party. Seal is often in on his wife’s Halloween antics and the pair frequently go to couples costume route so we’re wondering if he will be in on the monkey business as well!
Madonna’s 45,000 Pound Bustier
Remember the bustier Madonna wore with fishnet tights during her 1987 ‘Who’s That Girl’ tour? One fan of the Material Girl certainly remembers it and believes it to be worth a huge 45,000 pounds! The custom-made piece, created by Los Angeles-based store Trashy Lingerie, went under the hammer in China for way, way above its pre-sale estimate of just 4,000 – 5,000 pounds.
Beverley Hills based auctioneers, Julien’s Auctions, sold the black bustier at the Ponte Resort in Macau, China alongside 23 other pieces of Madonna memorabilia including a signed copy of the star’s 1992 ‘Sex’ book and a recording of the song ‘Simon Says’ alongside her band Emmy and the Emmy’s.
In total, the auction drew over 62,000 pounds. Darren Julien, owner of the auction house, said of the huge earnings, “When you’re buying these things, you’re buying a memory.”
That’s one pricey memory!
The Star Soiree
The stars of Sydney and beyond fled to The Star (formally known as Star City) on Tuesday night for a very exclusive party where music legend Stevie Wonder played.
The crowd included Entourage star Adrian Grenier, Isla Fisher and Sascha Baron Cohen, Mel B, The Great Gatsby stars Tobey Macquire and Leonardo DiCaprio and the usual bevy of Aussie stars including Jennifer Hawkins, Kate Ritchie, Rick-Lee Coulter and more.
Leo, who only very rarely makes public appearances in Sydney, introduced Stevie Wonder to the crowd who cheered partly in admiration and partly because they’d be waiting over an hour for the music legend to appear.
