Yesterday rumours were circling that Amy Winehouse was in the process of adopting a 10-year-old girl at the time of her death. Now her rep has spoken up with the truth.
Kim Kardashian is on a mission to rid her skin of the psoriasis that is plaguing her before her wedding. But it’s not all bad news; Kim let the designer of her dress slip on her blog!
The Helpmann Awards
The 11th Annual Helpmann Awards were held last night at Sydney’s Opera House to regonise the artistic achievement and excellence in Australia’s Opera, theatre, dance and comedy.
Jonathan Biggins hosted the ceremony where stars such as Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush were eagerly anticipating the winners announcements. Mary Poppins the musical swept up with a huge eight gongs including the Best Male Actor award which went to Matt Lee of So You Think You Can Dance.
Geoffrey Rush was awarded Best Actor for his role in the Belvoir Theatre’s The Diary of a Madman.
Cate Blanchett took out Best Actress in a Play for her performance in the Sydney Theatre Company’s Uncle Vanya.
Mirando Otto looked red-hot in a full-length gown by Yeojin Bae. She presented at the show alongside her father Barry and sister Gracie.
Amy Winehouse’s Adoption
Yesterday the web was a flurry of rumours that the deceased Amy Winehouse was set to adopt a 10-year-old girl at the time of her death. The young girls name is Dannika Augustine who Winehouse met on the Carribbean island county Saint Luca in 2009.
The Mirror originally posted the story that included a confirmation from the girls grandparents that the adoption was underway.
The young girl, whose single mum is struggling to feed her, told the Mirror, “Amy was already my mother. I would call her mum and she would call me her daughter. She took care of me and we had fun together. I loved her and she loved me.” Winehouse’s rep has now told Gossip Cop, “There’s no truth to it.”
Kim Kardashian’s Wedding
Kim’s August 20 Wedding is looming closer and she is trying her hardest to keep the details quiet but has allowed one huge detail out; Vera Wang is designing the dress!
Yes, it was pretty obvious, as Kim wrote on her blog, “Vera has been a close family friend for a long time and we had talked about this moment for years. When it came to picking my wedding dress designer, she was the first person I thought of.
No one designs gowns the way she does!” The dress may be under control but Kim’s skin isn’t. On a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the bride-to-be was diagnosed with psoriasis. Her red, blotchy skin is hardly ideal for her wedding day and though her dermatologist suggested she lead, “a slower paced life” to fix the problem, Kim is hardly one for slowing down!
Instead, she’s trying every cream on the market, tweeting, “OK I’m trying a new psoriasis cream all week. I hope this works! I promise I will share the goods once I find something that really works!”
