Aussie Model Jess Hart: Taylor Swift ‘Didn’t Fit’ At Victoria’s Secret
Jess Hart, the Victoria’s Secret model who got her first big break in a Dolly modelling competition in the 90s, has got into hot water.
The problem? She told reporters that Taylor Swift, who sang on the Victoria’s Secret catwalk this year, ‘wouldn’t fit’ as an Angel.
But Hart now says that she was totally misquoted.
The journalist apparently asked if Ms Swift would make it as an Angel, one of modelling’s most coveted gigs. Hart replied that she probably wouldn’t – because every Angel has been modelling for ’14, 15 years’, and it’s not for amateurs.
She added that she’d ‘probably get in trouble’ for saying it.
Swift walked the runway with the models, in (more modest) outfits also designed by the VS crew. Normally, the show’s singers – like Rihanna last year – bring their own designer kit.
That might explain why the models thought Swift was trying to get in on their territory.
Hart’s now released a statement saying that she thought Swift ‘killed it’ on the runway as the show’s entertainment. But she hasn’t backed down on killing Swift’s modelling ambitions (if she has any).
Hart has modelled for Gap and other big names, and joined Victoria’s Secret with Miranda Kerr, one of her closest model mates.
What do you think: would Taylor Swift make a good Victoria’s Secret Angel, or should she just stick to music about boys?

Jay-Z Talks About Barneys Racial Profiling Scandal
He got major criticism for not immediately breaking off his lucrative deal with Barneys last week – but now Jay-Z is speaking out.
Here’s the primer on the scandal. Barneys, an expensive US retailer, is being accused of racially profiling two young black men who were buying luxury items.
The men allege they were arrested and badly treated by the store’s guards for no good reason other than their skin colour, and told they couldn’t ‘possibly afford’ the big-ticket things they were buying.
The US media’s gone mad, and the spotlight’s particularly on Jay-Z, who has a partnership with Barneys on his ‘Gold’ cologne and had a new collaboration in the works.
He refused to quit his Barneys deal. And he’s now released a statement about why.
One, he says, the allegations haven’t been proven. Two, he’s in a ‘unique position’ to speak out about these issues in American society, and to make ‘policy changes’.
Three, he says the collaborations were always ‘all about charity’ – and that now 100% of all profits from the partnership with Barneys will go to his charity, the Shawn Carter Foundation.
Barneys is also giving the Foundation 10% of all their sales in every store, meaning that a huge amount of Christmas money will be making its way to philanthropy.
The brand’s just cancelled a fundraising event next week for the Foundation – but that’s probably because they want to avoid publicity for a while.
What do you think – should he have cut and run, or is staying for the sake of charity a wise move?

Psychedelic Punk Witch: The Meadham Kirchhoff Topshop Collection
They’ve said their new collection for Topshop was inspired by a fictional punk band, ‘The Cherrys.’
And now we’ve got an exclusive preview of what Meadham Kirchhoff have come up with for Topshop.
If you’re feeling this season’s punk-rock influence, you’re going to love this collection.
It’s all bright hues, 70s influences, Bowie rock stars and faux fur.
The wackiest pieces are the shoes. They’ve made Mary Jane platforms in insane pastel colours, covered in huge star buckles, rainbows and glitter.
The primmest piece? A demure 1930s-style silk dress – but even that’s covered with pictures of the Evil Eye.
Elsewhere there are huge fur trimmings on coats, black suede covered in gold stars, Courtney Love-style baby doll dresses, an entire coat of skinned Muppets and a red-and-green pleather playsuit in the style of a frilly apron.
It’s endearingly mad – and definitely statement dressing.
The psychedelic collection has 80 pieces, the biggest Topshop collaboration for the designers yet. Will you be grabbing a piece?
