We all know Kim Kardashian is a drama queen but now she’s taken her diva ways to new heights with a lawsuit!
In Sydney, the stars braved the rain to attend the 9th Annual Astra Awards to celebrate Australian television.
With the release of Twilight’s fourth film ‘Breaking Dawn Part One’ creeping closer, the cast made an appearance at San Diego’s Comic-Con and let a few teasers out of the bag.
Kim Kardashian’s Legal Action
In what is surely one of the most ridiculous law suits of all time, Kim Kardashian is reportedly suing Old Navy for using a model who looks like her! Allegedly the case is worth $15-20 million. A statement from her lawyer reads, “Kim Kardashian is immediately recognisable, and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them.”
The doppelganger in question is model Melissa Molinaro who also happens to be dating Kim’s ex Reggie Bush. She features in commercials and a faux music video for the brands advertising which started airing five months ago.
Who knows how this case will pan out. Though it seems ridiculous, Kim Kardashian has the star power and money to see it through to the end and when Kim wants something, she usually gets it!
The Action at the Astra Awards
Last night Aussie stars made their way through a practically flooded Sydney to the Sydney Theatre where the 9th Annual Astra awards took place.
The awards celebrates the Australian small screen and this year saw Sarah Murdoch emerging as one of the big winners, proving that handling a mistake with grace can see you end up on top. She took out the Favourite Female Personality award, an award that is chosen by the public. The show on which she made that infamous mistake, Australia’s Next Top Model, was awarded the most outstanding reality program. Our Glamour Expert Alex Perry was there to celebrate.
Rove McManus made an appearance with his wife to present an award while Lee Furlong, Tara Moss and Helen Dalley hosted the night.
Jessica Mauboy and Katie Noonan both performed while wearing some seriously stunning pieces from Australian jewellery designer Samantha Wills and presenter Sarah Wilson also chose a piece from the designer’s Distance and Time collection. We love seeing Aussie stars rocking Aussie designers!
Breaking Dawn News
The Twilight films fourth instalment, Breaking Dawn: Part 1, is one of the most highly anticipated films of this year. Anyone who has read the books will be well aware there are some tricky scenes and we can’t wait to see how the producers have dealt with them.
This week, some tidbits have been revealed after the stars of the film, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner visited the Comic-Con press conference in San Diego.
The lucky audience got to see a couple of movie scenes that do not appear in the book along with a sneak peek at the honeymoon scene.
K-Stew talking about the wedding scene, which she said, required her to be under, “secret-service style crazy security” while Pattinson revealed that the birth scene was his favourite to shoot because Edward is depicted as, “very frail and human.”
Lautner raved about how well done the birthing scene is, crediting it to director Bill Condon. We can’t wait to check out the film that is scheduled for release in November.
