Nigella Lawson: Accusations Continue
We’ve hardly been able to switch on a television this week without seeing Nigella Lawson on the screen….
The media fanfare has come as a result of accusations made against the cooking queen during the fraud case against her two former personal assistants, Italian sisters Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo, who have been charged with defrauding Mr Saatchi out of more than $1.2 million, most of which they spent on luxury goods including flights, hotels, and designer clothes.
During the on-going court battle, Lawson has been accused of abusing cocaine, marijuana, and prescription pills daily, with the sisters claiming Lawson would regularly allow them to use Saatchi’s credit cards in exchange for their silence about her drug habits.
To make matters worse, Lawson’s estranged ex-husband Charles Saatchi has done nothing to disprove the claims; allegedly having sent an email to his once-partner saying he believes, “every word”.
The case has proved a gruelling one with new allegations about the life Nigella and her family lived coming thick and fast — it was today reported that the assistants have told the court that they were treated, “worse than Fillipino slaves”.
Saatchi arrived at court on Thursday but there was no time for him to supply evidence. It is expected Lawson will appear at the trial to be cross-questioned over the allegations sometime over the next fortnight.
It’s been a tough few months for Nigella Lawson – earlier this year she announced her divorce after horrific pictures of Saatchi grabbing Lawson by the neck outside a London restaurant were made public. The shocking images have returned to the public eye during this fanfare, and this combined with the recent ruling that Simon Gittany was guilty of murdering his fiancée, domestic violence has been flooding our airwaves.

Kyle and Jackie O Back on Radio
When news hit that Kyle and Jackie O would be leaving the radio station they’ve called home for so long, the nation was divided into two camps — fans bemoaning the loss of their favourite hosts, and naysayers rejoicing at never having to hear their voices again (forgetting the fact that they could have always switched the off button).
Today the former group can rest assured their commute to work in 2014 will continue to include a little shock jock, and the later are just going to have to learn where that off button is located as it has been officially announced that the Kyle and Jackie O Show is heading to 106.5 Mix FM.
It was truly the industry’s worst kept secret, but the confirmation is nonetheless news to all radio-owning Aussies. There has been much speculation Mix 106.5 are undergoing a major re-brand and becoming Kiis FM, but there’s been no official announcement yet.
Beauty and the Geek Winners Announced
It really is the season to wrap up reality! In the past few weeks, we’ve seen The Bachelor Australia 2013 put a ring on his winner, the Dancing with the Star king crowned, and now the Beauty and the Geek couple announced.
This year, it was Brett and Emily, both from Victoria, who took out the prize and a cash pool of $100,000 after beating runners-up Nathan and Erin in the final elimination quiz.
With the show said and done, Brett revealed in an interview with Fairfax Media that he’s been dating someone for the past three months! The Geek told the publication his participation in the show gave him the boost in confidence he needed to ask her out. He said, “…it was a mutual friend. I bumped into her after I got back from the show and thought, ‘Why not? If I can do all that crazy stuff on the show, how hard is it to ask someone out?”
