Miracle Make Up With Lancome’s Michael Brown.

Last week, over delicious macaroons and chocolate covered strawberries, Rescu. and our blogger friends, caught up with make up artist extraordinaire, Michael Brown and the Lancome team to talk all things beauty. And boy did we a learn a lot, and by a lot, I mean truckloads of useful tips and tricks, including a 2 minute daily make up regime which involves just 3 steps and 4 products!

Before you faint because you’re thinking about how much more free time you will have in the mornings, sit down, take a deep breath, pull out your notebook and pay close attention. Because these tips and tricks will literally change your life, even if it just means having time for a cup of tea or an extra 10 minutes sleep in the mornings.

4 products + 3 steps + 2 minutes = Amazing start-to-the-day makeup.

The 4 products you will need:

1. Lancome Genifique Youth Activator 30ml ($115)

2. Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation ($68)

3. Lanocme Virtuose Mascara ($52)

4. Lancome Juicy Tubes PURE in Genuine Tomato ($46)

Step one.

Mix 1-2 drops of Genifique Youth Activator with one pump of Teint Miracle foundation
and using a foundation brush pat on the centre of your face. Michael
suggests, imagining your face as if it were a sun, focusing first on
areas in the centre that need the most coverage i.e. nose, chin and
cheeks, before smoothing out to edges, just like rays shoot out from the
sun’s core. By the time the product reaches your jaw line, there is no
need to worry about foundation streaks or obvious lines, as you have
worked the product from the inside to outer area of your face
eliminating excess build up. The combination of Genifique Youth
Activator and Tient Miracle will ensure a dewy and plumped base that
will last through the day and into the night, if you need it to.

Step Two.

Michael understands that every girl wants long luscious lashes and he has devised a special technique using Lancome’s Virtuous Mascara to get them. Firstly it is important to note that the brush of this mascara is unique, as it features both long and short bristles. Short for volume, long for length! Using a rolling motion, starting at the very base of the lashes, twist the wand slowly upwards, this will help to create a longer lash. Michael says, “The slower the twist, the longer the lash.”

Step 3.

Lancome’s Juicy Tubes are an old favourite at Rescu. and with Michael’s
application tips and tricks, we love these cute little lip glosses even
more. Instead of using lipstick brushes or applying gloss direct from
tube to lip, Michael suggests using your ring finger, which usually
mimics your lip shape, making application much easier. The warmth of
the finger will also help gloss hold for longer, as well as allowing for
more colour to make it to the lips, brightening the overall finish.

And that’s it. The End. Voila! Beautiful natural make up that will last
you all day (and add a few extra minutes of free time to do as you
please in the mornings).
