The role personal technology plays when it comes to fitness has changed the game, as apps and devices help us stay active while in lockdown. Whether you’re sharing your daily workout stats with your friends and family on social media or using an app that allows you to work out anywhere anytime, tracking and measuring fitness has never been easier and now even better. This week Apple has announced that they are expanding their fitness+ which will be available to 15 new countries while offering a broader range of programs and tools to keep their users active.
Fitness+ is the first of its kind, a service that was built entirely around the Apple Watch, bringing users studio-style workouts and guided meditations to their compatible devices which include, iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, creating a first-of-its-kind personalised and immersive experience users can complete wherever and whenever it’s convenient for them.
In an expansion of their offering, Fitness+ has targeted workout programs for pregnancy, for older adults, beginners and even workouts to get ready for the snow season, all to keep users moving and helping them to live a healthier lifestyle, as Jay Blahnik Apples Senior Director of Fitness Technologies states Fitness+ is for everyone, “whether you’re just getting started, trying something new or switching up how you train your mind and body the amazing and welcoming team is here to help users live a healthy lifestyle no matter where they are in their fitness journey.” The expansion will include Pilates, Guided Meditation, Group Workouts with Shareplay and Artist spotlight and Time to Walk.
Users will now be able to use fitness+ to develop a regular mediation routine that will help improve their overall sense of well-being. They will be able to choose from nine guided meditation themes including, purpose, kindness, gratitude, awareness, creativity, wisdom, calm, focus and resilience.
Users of fitness+ will find Pilates as a new low-impact workout type and will provide users with more options for maintaining and improving their strength and flexibility and all users will need is a mat and a resistance band.

Every Monday over four-week new workouts featuring music from artists such as Billie Eilish, Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons and Nicki Minaj will appear in the service across different modalities. Workout types will include cycling, HITT, Dance, Treadmill and more across music genres such as Chill Vibes, Upbeat Anthems, Latest Hits and more.
