Haute couture designer, Roberto Cavalli and luxury watch maker Franck Muller have teamed up to create a new line of watches. Cavalli essentially wanted to create something different and “something new that people will recognize instantly as if it were a Cavalli dress”. We can’t wait to see the results!
The Italian fashion house has created a range with the Swiss company which will be unveiled in the third quarter of 2012, and Roberto himself has praised the “innovation” of the group.
He said, “I have always been very impressed by the craftsmanship, the quality, the innovation, the style and the creativity of the Franck Muller Group. These are characteristics that have allowed the brand to distinguish itself in the watch-making sector. Our two worlds have a lot in common, and as a great watch collector I find that just like an evening gown, a watch tells and defines exactly the character and the state of mind of [the person] who wears it.”
The time pieces will cost from $1,600 to $7,600, with entry level pieces up to more luxurious items. Chief executive of Cavalli, Gianluca Brozzeti, added all tastes would be catered for with the collection.
He told WWD, “The new watch collection will be able to respond to the different needs of a clientele that is ever more sophisticated.”
