Taylor Swift Australian Tour
We think Taylor Swift might be having a little love affair with Australia… it was only about six months ago that the songstress made her way down under for a promotional tour but already she’s booked her next trip!
Just this morning it was announced the Swift will be bringing her Red tour to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth! And fans of the ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ singer will be thrilled to hear their chances of scoring a ticket are pretty good — Swift is headlining all the stadium venues , meaning she’ll be playing to a combined 180,000 Aussie fans during her ten day tour.
This makes the first woman to play the national stadiums in Australia since Madonna — a true testament to her star power here in the land of Oz!
The tour kicks off in Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on December 4 and finished at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on December 14. Tickets go on sale at 9am on May 21st from Frontier Touring. Pre-sale tickets available from May 14.
Rescu. Speaks to Rob Mills
Decades since its Broadway premiere in 1972, Grease is well and truly still the word and its latest revival is set to electrify audiences in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.
We spoke to Rob Mills, who is set to play Danny Zucko, to find out more about the role and what we can expect from this new production.
RESCU: We originally knew you from Idol but more recently you’ve scored lead roles in Wicked and Legally Blonde lately and now you’re set to star in Grease! Was theatre where you always wanted to be?
Rob Mills: I always loved musical movies as a kid. Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, and all the Disney movies so I think it’s always been there (inside me). I studied music and drama at high school but we never did any productions. I guess I just sort of fell in love with the genre when I went to the West End and saw Wicked and Avenue Q.
RESCU: Tell us about the first time you watched Grease?
Rob Mills: I think it was in high school. Sleep overs at a mate’s place. I reckon my girlfriends would’ve watched that movie one hundred times. Me not so much. I liked it back then but really fell in love with the show in 2005 when I got to play Johnny Casino in the Grease Arena Spectacular.
RESCU: Playing Danny Zuko has got to be a lot of fun – can you tell us how you get in to character? Do you have anything in common with Danny?
Rob Mills: Well, I am still playing Warner Huntington III in Legally Blonde the Musical, who comes from wealth and class. Danny is pretty much the opposite, so I am looking forward to the challenge. Greasing back the hair and giving it some real attitude. I think Danny puts on his bravado, I’ve done that a few times. I’m really a softy.
RESCU: What can we expect from this production? Give us three reasons we should be sitting front row…
Rob Mills: It’s the award winning production from the West End. So the sets are incredible, the cast is the best of the best, and the show is one of the most high energy productions ever. Be in the front row to see our insanely talented dancers dance the Hand Jive.
RESCU: And what’s life after Danny hold for Rob Mills? Anything on the horizon?
Rob Mills: I am hoping to audition for some more TV and film roles and maybe even head to LA and New York.
