The Block’s ‘Sky High’ Results
Last night more than 2 million Australians tuned in to find out which pair of hopefuls would take out the top spot and auction off their apartment above the reserve price.
As we held out breath, it was announced twin sisters Alisa and Lysandra were the winners – taking home a total of $395,000 after selling their Melbourne luxury apartment for $1,435,000 when the reserve price was set at $1,140,000.
The sisters, who hail from South Australia, are both mothers and work as policewomen but all that is about to change thanks to their profitable The Block Sky High win. They have said they plan to take their winnings to start an interior design business.
The other couples may not have won the grand prize, but it was a profitable night for all with everyone taking home more than $200,000.

Glee Cast Celebrate Cory Monteith
It’s been hard to believe it’s already been two weeks since Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead. The young star’s tragic and sudden passing has understandably left his colleagues and friends devastated and on Thursday last week the cast of Glee gathered at Paramount Studios to remember their cast mate. Ryan Murphy, Kevin McHale, Diana Agron, Darren Criss, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Harry Shum Jr were all at the event where they had lunch and exchanged memories of the star. The 150 guests wore black ribbons to commemorate the star.
Meanwhile, a close friend of Lea Michele has spoken to UK magazine Closer about how Lea is handling the devastating news saying, “Lea is inconsolable and in complete shock. She’s trying to understand what happened and has been obsessively reading through Cory’s last texts to her and listening to the voicemail he left for her on the night of his death.”
A representative for Lea told People magazine, “Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she’s received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory’s passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them. They are supporting each other as they endure this profound loss together. We continue to ask the media to respect the privacy of Lea and Cory’s family.”
Amanda Bynes’ Parents Speak Out
It’s hard not to wonder where Amanda Bynes’ parents over the past year of very public displays of bizarre behaviour. Now we have our answer.
Yesterday Lynn and Rick Bynes filed court papers petitioning to have Bynes released from a psychiatric facility into their 24/7 care. The incident came three days after the troubled star allegedly started a fire in a resident’s driveway.
Court documents obtained by TMZ showed that the parents stated their daughter was a paranoid substance abuser, that she had, “profound issues with her body image” and was, “obsessed with the fact that she (and others) are ugly.”
As the report went on, Amanda Bynes enormous financial troubles were revealed. The couple said Bynes had blown $1.2 million in a few short amount of time and allegedly withdrew $100,000 on June 4 and another $100,000 on July 2 – both withdrawals thought to be spent on illegal substances.
The scary documents showed just how trouble Bynes really is and, although Bynes will not face criminal charges over the arson attempt, she has been placed in hospital by law as she is considered a danger to herself.
