5 Top Colour Tips
1/Find out your colour/undertone
Colour is the first thing that people notice about you. Wearing the right colours in makeup, clothing, jewellery and even hair keeps your appearance in harmony and balance. Consequently it will make your eyes looks brighter, your complexion will look clearer and your teeth will look whiter. Using your colours will simplify co-ordination of your wardrobe, increase your confidence and take you from looking good to great. When you are well presented not only do you feel more confident but you make a lasting impression on others.
Warm Colours – Golden Tone to the skin, gold or red hair tones and all eye colours except for Grey-Blue. Colours that typically suit the ‘cool’ undertone are: Pure White, Soft Whites, Cool Taupes, Charcoals, Navys, Royal Blues, Baby Blues, Emerald Greens, Pinks, Blue Reds and Black.
Cool in Colouring – Pink or Rosy Complexion, Ash Tone to the hair and mostly Blue, Grey-Blue or Dark Brown eyes. Colours that typically suit the ‘warm’ undertone are: Creams, Tans, Camels, Chocolate Browns, Olive, Khaki, Moss, Mustards, Oranges, Yellows, Aqua and Teal.
2/Start with the basics
Australian women on the whole enjoy their beauty routines and see it as a part of the day that make them feel good about themselves, inside and out. In terms of make-up this starts with 6 basics:
-Concealer lightens and brightens your skin
-Mineral Foundation evens out your skin tone and protects your skin from sun-damage
-Eyeliner defines, shapes and enhances your eyes
-Mascara lengthens, curls and thickens the eyelashes. Lush lashes look healthier and sexier
-Blush adds an instant healthy and radiant glow to your face
-Lipstick immediately brings out the colour of your eyes, frames your teeth and completes your look.
3/Adapt to the season
Don’t be afraid to try new colours and embrace the latest seasonal trends. Summer is the perfect time to brighten up your Colour Makeup Wardrobe. This season add a little extra colour by adding a glow to your cheeks, a sweep of bright liner to the eyes or add a pop of colour to your lips.
4/Mix it up for the Occasion
Have a ‘colour wardrobe’ for every occasion. You wouldn’t wear your work clothes to a fashion launch, so create make-up looks for work, weekend and that ‘WOW’ Event. Nutrimetics have created an amazing ‘Work, Weekend and Wow’ concept to help women quickly choose a look that is suitable for any time of day and occasion. The work look is modern and suitable for every day, the weekend look is understated yet trendy and the wow look will get everyone’s attention yet you can be confident your look is co-ordinated and in trend.
5/Be True to your style
Stick with the basics but don’t be afraid to try something new by incorporating a seasonal trend that suits your style & colouring. You don’t need to follow every trend to be fashionable, embrace your style and be confident knowing that you look AMAZING!
