Trialling a new beauty product is a lot like going to see a film. Will they be blockbusters, instant classics or suit a niche audience? Does the premiere overshadow the product and will the revamped version be better than the original? I play ‘Margaret and David’ on what’s coming soon and now showing.
One of the most exciting re-launches this year is Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II. You know how I feel about a super-charged super serum and this one’s got it all. As you sleep your skin begins its natural anti-ageing purification process and the facial serum is here to help kick start it and repair visible damage with a complex of active ingredients to slow down the ageing process. Help optimize your skin’s cellular performance with yeast and algae extract, antioxidants and Chronolux Technology – I could go on, but all you really need to know that turning back the clock and effortlessly silky, hydrated and radiant skin is possible with this new night-time essential.

Now there’s another reason too look forward to the end of winter, this year it will herald the launch of Marc Jacobs’ first foray into cosmetics. The collection was road-tested on the impossibly effortless Sofia Coppola at this year’s Met Ball Gala, and I can’t wait to see what more the king of quirk and cool has to bring to the beauty table. Although, we know not to expect many naturals and neutrals after Jacobs deemed them “a little lazy”, I tend to agree.
The 122 large collection comes in four categories: Smart Complexion (foundation, concealer, powder), Blacquer (eye liner, lash lifter, gel crayon), Hi-Per Color (eye products, lip products, nail polish), and the unisex Boy Tested Girl Approved (lip balm, brow tamer, and concealer).
Seeing over every step of the process, the products are named after his tattoos and favourite films, so get ready for everything from grunge-inspired darker palettes to fun and flirty brights.

It’s been everything British in the sporting world and for the Royal followers lately, but I’m hailing a new winner from British fragrance royalty, Jo Malone. The new Jo Malone Saffron Intense collection, in particular the Saffron Cologne Intense is typically unique and a very modern, niche fragrance for lovers of saffron. Sensual oriental wood and saffron are delicately combined with iris and the top notes of incense pink pepper and bergamot make for a tantalizing tartness. Those who enjoy warm scents will love the cream blond wood, white musk and comforting amber. Jo Malone Saffron Cologne Intense arrives in chic black glass flacon with silver-coloured stoppers.

I am in love with this gorgeous new song by songstress India Arie, ‘Your love is like Cocoa Butter’
I also love Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Oil, a full-proof body treat without the sticky, greasy texture. The nourishing formula loved by celebs worldwide, uses vitamin E, cocoa butter and rosehip-enriched oil for instant hydration. Speaking of instant, there’s no ‘dry time’ as the formula absorbs quickly for immediate relief and soft, smooth skin for any instances that call for a skirt this winter. Best of all, improve the appearance of stretch marks, scars, uneven skin tone and ageing skin.
