RESCU: Have you always been passionate about healthy eating and how did the Eat Fit Food concept come about?
Bianca Monley: I am a big foodie who loves to exercise and doesn’t like to miss out on wonderful food experiences. Eat Fit Food was set up out of a passionate belief in the benefits of eating well – even for people with a busy schedule! My goal was to educate people that eating well can be an enjoyable part of everyday giving us more energy and motivation for a better life.
RESCU: With the healthy eating and home delivered food industry booming in Australia, how do you ensure Eat Fit Food stays ahead of the game?
Bianca Monley: Changing people’s lives through food is what we do best. Eat Fit Food provides the freshest, highest quality home delivered meals you will get in Australia and we are always looking at ways to improve this. We take pride in our sustainably farmed ingredients using ethical meats, local produce, zero additives, no refined sugar and plenty of health fats and superfoods.
Most recently we have purchased our own farm where we will grow organic produce to include in our meals. We are constantly looking for ways to green up and provide clients with the much needed support to changing their lives.
RESCU: Have there been any tough decisions you’ve made that were integral to the success of Eat Fit Food?
Bianca Monley: There have been many. Eat Fit Food’s success is made up by a wonderful team of people who make it what it is. Having the right people in the business is vital to achieving the company’s vision and dreams. The ongoing tough decisions to let people go who are not the right fit I always find the hardest and this can have a large impact on the business’s vibe and success.
RESCU: Before Eat Fit Food boasted celebrities known for their clean living lifestyle (the Klims, Lara Bingle, Hugh Jackman), did you face any setbacks?
Bianca Monley: Of course there has been many. I will never forget when the GFC hit. At the time 40% of Eat Fit Food’s business was made up with corporate accounts. Overnight they all cancelled their meal orders and my accountant advised me I only could continue running for another month with the funds I had coming in. A very scary time, but like anything when the pressure is on you pull up your sleaves and make it work.
RESCU: Has social media influenced your success in any way?
Bianca Monley: Absolutely, it is a great way to connect and motivate a larger market of people with the Eat Fit Food message and collaborate with like-minded individuals and businesses within the health and well-being industry.
RESCU: Do you have any advice for those who’d like to make it big in the health industry, especially in the digital realm?
Bianca Monley: Make sure you have credibility behind what you are doing. You are dealing with people’s lives and that needs to be taken seriously. These days we are bombarded with so much information, make sure yours is credible. Follow your dreams and do what do are passionate about.
RESCU: What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received and how did it change the way you work?
Bianca Monley: When something is not working and constantly taking up time and energy, let it go. Don’t delay this decision, the sooner you do you will create more space for things that work.
RESCU: What does the average day for the founder of Eat Fit Food look like?
Bianca Monley: I have a 10 month old daughter, Harper, and another baby due in 6 weeks as well as currently building Eat Fit Farm. You could say things are definitely busy. I start my day feeding my little one a super food packed breakfast then outside to connect with nature doing some form of exercise. What is important to me? Spending time with my family, meditating, sourcing fresh local produce from markets and eating out. Basically anything that involves food, family, health and growing Eat Fit Food.
RESCU: What would you be doing if you hadn’t founded Eat Fit Food?
Bianca Monley: There was never an option for there to be anything else, this was my dream and I have always been determined to make it work.
RESCU: What does the future look like for Eat Fit Food?
Bianca Monley: Expansion on many levels that will help people better their lives. Nationwide locations. Eat Fit Farm growing organic produce + Health retreat weekends. Cooking Classes. Family packs + healthy kids. Product lines. The wish list is endless….exciting times ahead for Eat Fit Food.
