Britain’s big night of film saw the country’s biggest celebrities congregate under the stars to honour cinematic brilliance. Held in the coveted Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, accolades are handed out for the best in feature-length film and documentaries of any nationality, that were screened in British cinemas the previous year.
Hosted by the well-loved and well-received Stephen Fry and fellow actor Sam Clanflin, the line-up of award winners sounded all too familiar to the Golden Globes, with Eddie Redmayne picking up the award once again for Best Actor in ‘The Theory of Everything’ and Boyhood collecting a clean sweep of accolades from Best Director to Supporting Actor.
Visual spectacle ‘The Grand Budapest Hotel’ was a fresh addition to the awards list, being awarded for it’s costume and production design. The night began a stellar performance from British rockers Kasabian, and finished on a high note with the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema awarded to BBC Films.
