Last week Sydney’s elite gathered at Kirribilli House for The Bag Lunch, an event held to raise money for the Intensive Care Unit at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick.
The Bag Lunch, now in it’s second year, saw nineteen highly coveted handbags from designers such as Proenza Schouler, Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Mulberry, Marni, Willow, Scanlan & Theodore, Salvatore Ferragamo and Sass & Bide up for silent auction.
The guest list was almost as fabulous as the bag line-up, host The Today Show’s Lisa Wilkinson was joined by local ladies Kit Willow, Michelle Walsh, Natarsha Belling, Amber Keating, Sally Burleigh, Naomu Parry, Mandy Foley-Quin, our own Bahar Etminan and more.
Guests enjoyed a gourmet cocktail-style luncheon with champagne by Moet & Chandon and sparkling and still water by San Pellegrino and Fiji Water.
In the two years of the event, it has raised just over $200,000 for the Sydney Children’s Hospital making it one of the foundation’s key annual fundraising events.
Chair of The Bag Lunch committee, Rachael Ruddick says, “Every year we aim to create and celebrate uniqueness, and in a world currently filled with adversity, we have been overwhelmed by the support of big donors and product partners in the creation of
The Bag Lunch 2011. We are proud to have helped to raise awareness and much needed funds for sick children at Sydney Children’s Hospital.”
A fabulous luncheon, beautiful bags and a great cause. What more could you ask for?
