After four years together, Brynne and Geoffrey Edelsten split.
The pair, who have 40 years between them, have been the subject of much drama over the past few years that has ultimately led to the separation which is said to have left Brynne completely devastated.
Cracks in their relationship started to show in March of 2012 when Edelsten reportedly had an affair with a New Jersey woman he met on online dating website sugardaddy.com. During the whirlwind affair, which spanned just three-days in Florida, Edelsten reportedly lavished the woman with gifts including cash, a Louis Vuitton handbag, and a return flight to Florida. The whole thing left Brynne, naturally, devastated and humiliated.
More recently, Edelsten was forced to file for bankruptcy in the United States where it is said he in somewhere around the mark of $18.2 million in debt and has been forced to borrow money from his 90-year-old grandmother.
It was Brynne’s publicist and close friend John Scott who confirmed to Fairfax Media that the couple had called it quits six weeks ago and that the socialite is, “keen to stay in Melbourne [because] she has built a life here and she doesn’t really want to go back to America.”
He said, “It’s pretty sad, separation is always difficult. From what I know about her intentions, she’s made a good living here. Even though she doesn’t have her family here, she has a close circle of friends she considers family. I’d find it pretty unusual if she were to pick up and head back to the US.”
Meanwhile, Brynne’s new manager Rob Menzies has confirmed the second series of Brynne’s reality show ‘My Bedazzled Life’ will be hitting Aussie television screens on Channel 7 in the first half of 2014. He said. “The show is going ahead as planned, there’s no changes to anything at the moment.”
We feel for Brynne, any and every breakup is hard, but we think this might be one break up where she comes out on top!
