Today in our Celebrity files we’re looking to the styles of the stars.
We’re thinking the younger half-sisters of the Kardashian’s, Kendall and Kylie Jenner are gearing up to steal the fashion limelight. Read on to find out why.
If there’s anyone in the world the Rescu. crew trust when it comes to style advice, it’s the impeccable Olivia Palermo so we’ve tracked down some of her winter style tips. It may be summer here but the sun certainly has not been shining so we’re willing to take them!
And finally, Aussie male model Andrej Pejic has a hot new campaign out in which his breasts (yes, breasts) are looking seriously enviable…
There’s little doubt the Kardashian’s name has been dragged through the mud and even their biggest fans are turning the other cheek and getting seriously over the sisters. With them out of the way, we’re wondering if it’s time for the Jenner’s to shine. Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the younger half-siblings of Khloe, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, have teamed up with Glamhouse for their first collection, which will be marketed towards young teenagers and launch in autumn 2012. The collection is incredibly affordable, retailing at between $19.99 and $69.99. Glamhouse currently work on Kim’s Belle Noel’s range, as well as Nicole Richie’s House of Harlow 1960, Low Luv by Erin Wasson and Andrea Lieberman’s A.L.C. While the jewellery line marks 16-year-old Kendall’s first foray into fashion, her 14-year-old sister began her modelling career earlier this year. Kylie appeared on the catwalk at New York Fashion Week for Avril Lavigne’s Abbey Dawn label in September. After the show, Brody – who is in a relationship with Avril – tweeted: “Just saw @KylieJenner walk in the @AbbeyDawn fashion show!.. She looked beautiful and was such a natural. Proud to be her brother 🙂 ” The sisters have also secured a deal with E! for yet another Keeping up with the Kardashians spin-off that focuses just on the Jenner sisters and we’re thinking this series might be focusing on the fashion empire the sisters seem to be creating. Do you think Kendall and Kylie are gearing up to take their sister’s place in the spotlight?

Olivia Palermo says she adds a feminine touch to trousers by teaming them with hats. The socialite and reality TV star admits it can be a bit too cold to wear a dress during the winter and trousers can look too “masculine”, but she finds headgear to be a useful addition to maintain a womanly look. She said: “During the holidays it gets so cold, and you don’t always want to go out and be freezing in a dress. So I really tried to focus on how to wear pants. Obviously it’s masculine, but add a feminine touch with accessories, and really go to the next level with some hats.” The 25-year-old brunette has a “Topshop obsession” and thinks the high street is a perfect place to grab a bargain because it enables shoppers to look “fashionable on a budget”. She added to People: “It’s about catching your eye. I think the wonderful thing about High Street especially is that you can look fashionable on a budget – there’s something for everyone. You can incorporate basics into your own wardrobe without breaking the bank.” As well as keeping her warm during the cold seasons, Olivia also finds winter coats useful to hide any “unfortunate” outfits she may be wearing underneath. She explained: “During the long New York winter, a person’s coat is the only indicator one can give to passerby as to their true fashion personality. In some ways, this is a beautiful thing. Running into one’s ex, for example, during the summer, wearing a ratty t-shirt and ancient jeans, makes you want to never leave the house again. During the winter, your fabulous coat is hiding the same unfortunate outfit, making you look fabulous – and ‘so’ over him!”
Cross-dressing Sydney model Andrej Pejic is probably the least likely spokesmodel for an intimate apparel campaign but, in fashion, one should never make assumptions. Pejic is, in fact, starring in a campaign for a push-up bra for Dutch chain store Hema! The advertisements for the brand’s “Mega Push-Up Bra” which promises to make your breasts 2 cup sizes larger show Pejic sporting a convincing B cup complete with cleavage in a red dress! If it works for a guy, it’s gotta work for us right?
