Dannii Minogue X Factor Break Down
Last night we were reaching for the tissues as we tuned in to The X Factor’s family week and witnessed an emotional Dannii Minogue breaking down and eventually leaving before recording had finished as her only remaining contestant, Dami Im, sung for the audience.
The song that caused the waterworks was none other than the Simon & Garfunkel classic Bridge Over Troubled Water, which Im delivered just as flawlessly as everyone has come to expect from her.
An emotional Dannii saying, “That was for my parents and my grandfather, that song tonight. For anyone who’s out there who’s ever had a tough time, that is the song!” She was, of course, referring to the death of her grandmother to cancer a couple of weeks ago — news that was largely kept out of the media.
Dannii also thanked her last standing contestant for being an angel during a tough week.
Watch the emotional performance below.
Lara Bingle Attends Global Citizen Festival
Sixty thousand punters headed to New York City’s Central Park over the weekend for the 2013 Global Citizen Festival.
The concert, now in its second year, raises funds and awareness for the Global Poverty Project — a campaign aiming to end extreme poverty by 2030. Several celebrity names, including Bono, Princess Mark, and Deborra-Lee Furness, addressed the crowd throughout the day to get the message of ending poverty across loud and clear.
It wasn’t all talk though — artists like Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon, Alicia Keys, and John Mayer were the headline acts for the event, performing for the crowd of concert-goers who had scored free tickets by logging on to the cause’s website and sharing messages across their social media pages.
There was also a big of Aussie representation at the show as this year, the Cotton On Foundation collaborated with Global Poverty Project for the festival, and sent brand ambassador Lara Bingle along to represent. Bingle was already in NYC with Victoria’s Secret Angel Erin Heatherton and model Gigi Hadid to shoot a campaign for Cotton On. She wasn’t the only Aussie there either — Natalie Imbruglia, Sam Worthington, Andrej Pejic, and Princess Mary were all on site for the day’s festivities.
Kim and Kanye Attend Paris Fashion Week
Over the weekend, some of Hollywood’s most fashionable celebrities headed to Paris for the final week of the Spring/Summer 2014 runway shows.
Most notably, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West took some time out from their parenting duties to visit Paris, sit front row at the Givenchy show, and enjoy their first public date since North West was born in June. It’s the first time that Kim has been away from her daughter so we imagine she must be feeling a little stressed! It didn’t show though, the pair seemed happy, in love, and entirely relaxed together. Kim was clearly back in action, soaking up the spotlight in a daring black dress that showed off plenty of cleavage and a whole lot of thigh.
Kim may have stolen the spotlight but she wasn’t the only celeb there — Olivia Palermo has been making the rounds, showing up at Nina Ricci and Christian Dior, Balenciaga drew a bevvy of big names including Salma Hayek, M.I.A, and Anna Wintour, and Pamela Anderson was in attendance for her longtime friend Vivienne Westwood’s show.
