Makeup expert and Clinique and Global Colour Artist, Jenna Menard shows us how we can replicate classic beauty with a futuristic flair as seen at the Karen Walker Walker Spring / Summer 2013 Collection show at New York Fashion Week.
The Karen Walker Spring/Summer 2013 Collection celebrates the simplicity of the 1950s aesthetic, as well as the generation’s optimism and galactic wonder. The makeup look walks the line of classic femininity and modern beauty – a futuristic take on classic feminine subtleties.
Clinique Global Colour Artist, Jenna Menard combines the illusion of a moon-kissed glow and a slightly smudged eye for an effortless effect. The lip is the main attraction for this season’s look, created by layering textures, adding dimension and a gentle iridescence.

FACE:
The skin should be flawless, matte and smooth.
To achieve a porcelain finish, use a foundation shade one shade lighter than the natural skin tone.
Dab and blend foundation with a brush and top with powder in a slightly lighter shade for a matte finish.
For subtle contour and definition, apply a matte bronzer just below the cheekbone.
Rescu. recommends Clinique Superbalanced Powder Bronzer.
EYES:
Using a black eye liner, apply a very fine line along the bottom lash line, corner to corner.
Smudge the outer corner only with a clean shadow brush leaving the inner corner thin and more precise.
Layered on top of the liner, dust the eye shadow to help create an effortless but polished smudged look.
Apply one coat of waterproof mascara on top lashes and use the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara micro mini brush to define lower lashes.
LIPS:
This intense pastel pink colour applied with precise edges adds a feminine touch. To add dimension and create a matte finish, lightly dust a mixture of light pink and lavender eye shadow on top of the intense lip colour. Rescu. loves Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Watermelon.
