Does your man need a wardrobe overhaul? Jason Dundas, TV personality and menswear ambassador for David Jones, has all the insider tips on men’s style. At the David Jones Autumn/Winter 2014 Runway Show, Rescu. Beauty Expert Michael Brown sat down with Dundas to uncover his personal style and beauty tricks, so that you can help your man to look, and feel, fabulous.
According to Jason Dundas, the key to dressing sharp is style, not fashion. ‘For men I think there’s a key thing they have to understand,’ he says. ‘Fashion relates to women. Fashion is what you consume weekly or monthly, a trend that happens in that moment. Red shoes or a crazy hat, that’s fashion. Men kind of can stay clear of that, they want to stick to style. Style is about having classic items, a basic white T-shirt with jeans, something that David Beckham would wear and look classic in.’
The good news? Your man probably has everything he needs to look incredible already. ‘Every guy has these classic, stylish items in their wardrobe, it’s just a matter of weeding out the crazy fashion ones that they got influenced into buying by their friends,’ says Dundas. ‘Getting rid of them and simplifying your wardrobe, and only keeping items that match together.’
When it comes to blokes’ beauty, Jason Dundas keeps things simple, focusing on staying healthy and basic skincare rituals. ‘Just drink lots of water and always use sunscreen. I think guys forget about that and they go into the sun and it damages their face. I know it’s not a big thing to do, just get a moisturiser with an SPF 15+ and put it on every morning and then away you go.’
