Ahead of the Myer Spring/ Summer 2014 collection, ’90 Days of Summer’ which launched last night at Sydney’s Carriageworks, Rescu. sat down with model-mogul Jennifer Hawkins to talk personal style and her summer inspirations.
Leading a runway of 64 models alongside Myer ambassadors Kris Smith, Nicole Trunfio and Kate Peck, Jennifer Hawkins was summer personified in all white with the ends of her blonde tresses dipped in pastel pink thanks to hairstylist Kevin murphy. The front row saw the likes of Natalie Bassingthwaite, Jesinta Campbell, Nikki Phillips, Jodie Gordon, Rebecca Judd and Michelle Bridges take in the latest summer fashions under metallic palm trees.
Jen stole the show in a multi-coloured number by Alex Perry as the Australian designer debuted for the department store along with Little Joe by Gail Elliot, By Johnny and L by Lisa Ho who also presented their summer collections for the first time. Hawkins showed off her famous body in a flattering one piece swimsuit by Seafolly.
When Rescu. sat down with the 30-year old bombshell, she oozed effortless chic showing off bare shoulders in a figure-skimming cocktail dress by one of her favourite Australian designers, Yeojin Bae. On her personal style, she says wearing colour makes her feel “empowered and sexy” and on looking good for her man, husband Jake, Jen says she likes being covered up but still showing that little bit of skin.
The swimwear designer’s top tips for trends to watch this season include pastel shades in blue, pink and lilac, casual denim and all white looks.
