Rapper Kanye West showed his debut collection at Paris Fashion Week in front of a seriously A-list front row.
Last night Cate Blanchett and SK-II celebrated the launch of their new TV campaign. We take a look at the debut and find out what went on behind-the-scenes at the filming. As if it wasn’t weird enough when cricketer and notorious womaniser Shane Warne started dating gorgeous Hollywood star Elizabeth Hurley, it now seems the pair are engaged! Kanye West’s Designer Debut
Over the weekend, Kanye West showed his leather and fur heavy collection to a very impressive Paris Fashion Week crowd that included Lindsay Lohan, Azzedine Alaia, Alexander Wang, Anna Wintour and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Mr West refused interviews pre-show and wouldn’t confirm what he was working on anyone. Even friends of the rapper had pretty much no idea what to expect.
All the hype may have done him a disservice, according to most reports; the collection was underwhelming to say the least. Jessica Michault was one of whom who tweeted her harsh critiques throughout the show and concluded her rant with a particularly harsh tweet saying, ‘Kanye West taking his bow after his debut as a “designer”’
Sounds like Kanye might be better of sticking to rapping for now!
Cate Blanchett’s Advertisement Debut
For nine years Aussie starlet Cate Blanchett has been the face of SK-II, the brand responsible for discovering the skin-saving miracle that is Pitera. To celebrate this epic partnership, Blanchett is starring in a new television commercial that aired for the first time last night.
In the advertisement, the 42-year-old whose flawless complexion is the envy of every woman in the world, tells the story of the first time she discovered SK-II, and their hero product the Facial Treatment Essence.
The advertisement is nothing short of stunning, paying tribute to the beauty of nature. Blanchett says, “We shot the commercial in the Hsitou Bamboo Forest in Taiwan, and it was one of the most extraordinary places on earth I have even been in. The light was so delicate, I was in a beautiful white dress, against all the green—it was just exquisite.”
It will be airing right through the summer months on all major networks.
Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley Engaged
Last month Shane Warne revealed to 3AW radio that he was in love with Elizabeth Hurley, boasting that together the unlikely pair make a pretty good partnership. But he admitted he wasn’t ready to talk marriage just yet.
It seems a lot can change in a month. On Saturday both Warney and his gorgeous girlfriend sent identical tweets reading, “Thanks for all your congratulations. Here’s a pic of us about to go to Dunhill dinner in St Andrews.” This mystery tweet follows a story in the Daily Mail that ran a photo of 46-year-old Hurley wearing a huge $50,000 sapphire on her ring finger and said the former cricketer proposed in front of a room filled with VIPs at the Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, Scotland.
Nothing has been confirmed by either party yet but all this comes just four months since the star finalised her divorce from Arun Nayar so it’s not unfeasible the pair might want to keep an engagement quiet for now.
