Ladies it’s time to get excited because it’s finally official!
Whilst rumours have been circulating for weeks as to whether the royal couple are expecting, the St James’ Palace has confirmed this morning that Prince William and Kate Middleton are indeed expecting!

“Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby,” the palace said in a statement this morning.
The palace also announced that Kate was “in the very early stages” of her pregnancy, and it’s believed the royal mum-to-be has not yet hit the 12-week-mark but was forced to announce the news early due to being hospitalised today as she’s currently suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum – severe morning sickness.
The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital early this morning and she’s expected to remain there for just a few days and will rest at home after.
The royal couple were staying at Kate’s parents’ house when Kate became ill in the early hours of the morning and Prince William immediately drove her to the hospital, not leaving her side for hours after she was admitted.
It’s believed Kate’s condition is now improving as William has since left the hospital but is expected to return to his wife’s side soon.
“The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news,” the palace added in their official statement.
British Prime Minister David Cameron also reacted to the big news, telling BBC, “It’s absolutely wonderful news and I’m sure everyone around the country will be celebrating with them tonight.”
The baby will be third in line to the throne behind Prince Charles and Prince William. Under new British laws which came into effect last year, the child’s uncle – Prince Harry – will be bumped down the line to fourth.
The news has already started a world wide betting game as to what the baby will named!
Names that are currently circulating include Mary, Matilda, Elizabeth, Victoria, Carol (Kate’s mother’s name), Edmund, George and Charles.
If a girl, it is also rumoured ‘Diana’ will be given as a second name in tribute to Prince William’s late mother Princess Diana.
Congratulations to the royal couple!
