Lorde to Perform at ARIA Awards 2013
Lorde has reigned supreme in 2013, talking over our airwaves, the space in our head (we still can’t stop singing Royals), and, well, the world. The New Zealand songstress, who just recently celebrated her 17th birthday, has banked up an impressive line-up of achievements in just a year including a 25 minute set on Letterman, being named Time Magazine’s Most Influential Teen of 2013, becoming the first New Zealander to have a number one on the Billboard Hot 100, scoring five awards at the 2013 New Zealand Music Awards, and having Royals hitting triple Platinum in Australia.
Now, the gorgeous star, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O’Conner, can add ‘ARIA performer’ to that list as the Aussie music awards have just announced Lorde will be performing her latest single ‘Team’ at the 27th Annual ARIA Awards on Sunday night.
Dan Rosen, ARIA CEO said: “Lorde is an extremely talented artist and performer and one of the biggest artists in the world right now, so we are thrilled to be able to welcome her to this year’s ARIA Awards as a special guest performer.”
This will mark Lorde’s first ever Australian TV performance and we can’t wait to see what she brings.

Pretty Shady Campaign Brings Local Celebs
A new summer sun safety campaign has launched and, we have to say, it’s far cooler than the ‘slip, slop, slap’ message Aussies have become used to.
Pretty Shady sees local celebs singer Gossling, blogger Nicole Warne (Gary Pepper Girl), pro skater and TV personality Corbin Harris, pro-surfer Ellie-Jean Coffey, and artist Anthony Lister together in a campaign driving the message of skin cancer prevention through the launch of a series of sun-protection pieces, each of which one of the celebs involved had a hand in.
The campaign video was shot by acclaimed director Josh Logue who has worked with Aussie musicians such as Empire of the Sun, Birds of Tokyo, Josh Pyke, and more.

Star Power at LOYAL Ladies Lunch
Speaking of local celebs gathering for a good cause… yesterday the beautiful Guillaume at Bennelong was the site of the first ever LOYAL Ladies Lunch held to raise money for the LOYAL Foundation‘s major beneficiary, the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.
The lunch , which was hosted by Anthony Bell and Kelly Landry-Bell, saw local celebs including Anthony Miniciello and Terry Biviano, Sara Huegill, Cass Stefanovic, Larry and Sylvie Emdur, Kylie Gillies, Sandra Sully, and more gather for a lunch which raised a huge $70k.
All money raised will go to buying vital children’s medical equipment for hospitals and health services throughout Australia.
