Today marks the launch of Beautiful Lengths, a campaign by Pantene in partnership with Look Good.Feel Better, to encourage Australian Women to grow, cut and donate their locks.
Spring has arrived and whilst most of us will be spring-cleaning our wardrobes, organising our pantries or settling in to a new fitness regime, approximately 1 in 3 Australian’s will be undergoing treatment for cancer. Not only will they be battling the cancer, they will loose their hair and as a result, their confidence to feel themselves. This spring, why not consider cleaning up your look with a fresh, new hairdo that donates to a good cause?
Beautiful Lengths is a program run by Pantene and Look Good. Feel Better. It is aimed at getting women across Australia to grow their hair stronger and longer, then pledge 20 cm of their pony tails to create real hair wigs for cancer patients. Naomi Watts (Beautiful Lengths Ambassador) has teamed up with the lovely Zoe Foster (beauty expert) and Barney Martin (hair maestro) to encourage all Australian women to grow, cut and donate to this cause. Since its launch in the US in 2006, Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths have helped to create over 24000 real hair wigs and transform the lives of woman who have fallen victim to this horrible disease.
Our hair is an enormous part of our identity. Your hair makes you feel empowered, strong and sexy. Imagine being told you have cancer, and looking in the mirror after treatment to see such an unfamiliar face staring back. Real hair wigs are expensive, and are cost that most people going through chemo cant afford. But, with Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths, you can help these extraordinary women feel themselves again.
20 cm might seem like a lot of hair to part with, but never fear, shorter do’s are Tres Chic this Summer. Head to www.beautifullengths.com.au and sign up to make the chop for a change.
