Peaches Geldof, daughter of musician Bob Geldof and late TV presenter Paula Yates, was tragically discovered dead at age 25. She is survived by her husband Thomas Cohen and her two young sons Astala, 20 months, and Phaedra, 10 months.
Beyond devastation, Bob Geldof confirmed the news in statement saying, “We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us.
What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is.
(Husband) Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken. Bob, Jeanne, Fifi, Pixie and Tiger Geldof.”
Cohen, who has been married to Peaches since 2012, said in a statement, “My beloved wife Peaches was adored by myself and two sons Astala and Phaedra and I shall bring them up with their mother in their hearts everyday. We shall love her forever.”
It was said the British TV presenter, writer, and socialite’s body was found by paramedics after a woman called and said she couldn’t reach her.
The call came just hours after the mother-of-two had posted a photo of herself as a baby with her late mother on Instagram with the caption, “me and my mum”. Geldof was 11 when her own mother died of an accidental drug overdose.
Although Kent Police have ruled out foul play, a statement issued by the authorities said, “At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained and sudden.”
Since the news hit, tributes to Geldof have been pouring out on Twitter together with messages of support for the family she has left behind.
