Rescu. has been having a celebrity moment. Yesterday, we managed two excellent but very different celebrity sightings.
First up, it was with His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Sydney Entertainment Centre (my picture is a little fuzzy but not bad hey??). His talk on our personal responsibility for our future was inspiring, light hearted and rang true. In the role of MC was celebrity chef Kylie Kwong, who seemed almost star struck by the great honour.
Lined up to see ‘the big L’ after the talk was newly minted leader of the opposition, Tony Abbott, the same guy who nixed the ETS the previous day, was trying to get some celebrity stardust via a photo op and meeting with the Dalai Lama. Pretty dodgy if you ask us.
The Dalai Lama is celebrating the 20th anniversary of being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize by hosting a breakfast in Melbourne.

Celebrating an early Christmas dinner at hot new Sydney eatery Bootleg (Victoria Street, Potts Point), we were super excited to be seated next to Mick Fleetwood from Fleetwood Mac who was dining with pal Pattie Boyd (former wife of Beatle George Harrison and Eric Clapton), who inspired the infamous song “Layla”. The Blender Gallery in Paddington is hosting ‘Through the Eyes of a Muse: Photographs by Pattie Boyd’. Click here for more info on this art event.
Mick Fleetwood was very low key and the tallest man in the world. Sorry about the bad picture, but it’s the best I could do on the Blackberry with very low lighting. Mick invited us (that’s me to the right and my friends, Lucinda and Simone) to come and see his own band Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, performing in Sydney and around Australia and New Zealand in February. He’ll be teaming up with five-time Grammy Award winner Michael McDonald (Doobie Brothers) and Boz Scaggs to perform their greatest hits. Mick Fleetwood Blues Band will be joining them for select shows to perform their original songs and some Fleetwood Mac standards.

We’ll keep you posted on if we get the invite after all!
