Not your average fun run, She Runs the Night is an inaugural 13K run that encourages women to run together for one night only, set to take place on May 3rd at Centennial Park in Sydney. For the first time in Australia women will run, on mass – with girlfriends, training buddies and new friends – in the picturesque setting of Sydney’s most iconic park – allowing women the opportunity to run “the night” in a unique environment.
Nike opened registration for Australia’s first women’s night run at Centennial Park in Sydney on May 3. The inaugural 13km run, She Runs The Night, encourages women to run together for one night only.
“Nike wanted to motivate women to lace-up and discover the excitement and enjoyment of night running with their friends,” Nike Pacific Marketing Director Juliana Nguyen said. “Many female runners told us that they were searching for a running event with a difference so Nike created She Runs The Night to challenge female runners to run in a new way.
“She RunsThe Night will inspire women to run together around an iconic Sydney venue, Centennial Park, and celebrate night running in a safe environment.”
The race will start at 7pm at the Royal Hall of Industries in the Entertainment Quarter and then wind its way around Centennial Park. Race ambassador
Veronica Amtelmi is a regular runner who enjoys night running as part of her training. “I have run around Centennial Park many times during the day but never at night. She Runs The Night allows me to run this iconic circuit under lights with friends, and have a great time doing it,” she said.
Nike have set up free training groups in the lead up to the race – a run club and also a strengthening class, to get you ready to triumph over that 13k!
To register for the race, go to www.facebook.com/nikeruns. Registration will close midnight Sunday, April 22 or until sold out.
