Stefano Manfredi's Menu Series at The Star

Popular Italian chef, Stefano Manfredi and Balla head chef Gabriele Taddeucci are set to take diners on a culinary journey through the various regions of Italy, with a special series of dinners and lunches at his modern Italian restaurant Balla at The Star.

 

Italy is made up of 20 diverse regions each with its own culinary influences, specialities and signature produce. On the second Tuesday of each month, Stefano Manfredi and Balla head chef Gabriele Taddeucci, will introduce a new four course dinner menu with matching Italian wines, representing each of the regions.
 
This special menu series begins with a dinner event on 12 June at 7pm, with Tuscan native Taddeucci preparing a four course menu inspired by his homeland and childhood.
 
“It’s the food that I grew up with. A mix of flavours and memories that I take with me every day when I’m cooking,” he said.
 
Tuscan Regional Dinner – 12 June 2012
Stefano Manfredi will be mingling with guests in the dining room on the night, talking about his take on Tuscan cuisine and his many cooking influences. Guests of the event will take home a recipe from the menu, plus go into the draw to win an unforgettable day in the Balla kitchen with Stefano Manfredi, where he will teach the tips and tricks for sensational Italian cooking.
 
Dishes featured on the Tuscan inspired menu include, Baccala’ coi porri (salted cod braised with leeks), pappardelle al sugo di coniglio e castagne (house made parpadelle with rabbit and chestnut sauce), Peposo all’Imprunetina con polenta (beef shin slow cooked in Chianti and served with polenta) and Torta d’erbi (traditional pie made from wild greens).
 
Tickets are available for purchase for $95 per person including the four course menu plus matching wines.
 
Future Regional Dinners
Regions of Italy explored on the menu in following months include Piedmont, Lombardia, Sicily, Emilia Romanga, Puglia plus a special ‘Buon Natale’ traditional Christmas menu.
 
Each of the special menus will be available on the Balla a la carte dinner and lunch menu for the duration of the month.
