Ladies, its time to cancel that appointment you had scheduled with the cosmetic surgeon, as Rescu. has found a much less invasive alternative that actually works! Hyaluronic acid is a natural and effective skin plumper. Products containing this ingredient are able to dramatically and visibly restore skin’s plumpness and appearance of youth. A new skin care range from Restylane, packed with Hyaluronic is one of the best out there and designed to enhance facial features naturally through skin rejuvenation, filling lines and folds, contouring and creating volume.
Rescu. chats to Skin Expert Ilesha Haywood from the Paramedical Skin Clinic about Hyaluronic acid and Restylane in the race against time.
RESCU: What is Restylane?
Ilesha Haywood: Restylane is one of the 3 FDA approved hyaluronic acid soft-tissue fillers available on the market. It’s a non-animal-derived stabilized hyaluronic acid that is placed in the mid to deep dermis, and can be a good choice for people who want more volume enhancement, and a longer lasting result.
RESCU: What areas can Restylane be used on?
Ilesha Haywood: Common areas that can be treated with restylane include crow’s feet, deep folds around the mouth, or acne scars. It’s often a popular choice because it can look more natural and softer in appearance than other treatments, and the effects can last for around 5-8 months depending on the individual.
RESCU: What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Ilesha Haywood: Hyaluronic Acid is a substance found in the skin that helps retain and maintain water (for moisture). Naturally, it’s produced by fibroblasts and keratinocytes (skin cells) that turn over at a rate of 2-5 days. Decreased levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin gives the appearance of ‘aged skin’, which is less plump than youthful skin. In theory, hyaluronic acid does not actually penetrate the skin upon topical application, however this hasn’t stopped many companies from putting it into their skin care products and claiming efficacy. Where it can be beneficial is in treatments that can infuse it deeper into the skin. At the Paramedical Skin Clinic, we use a hyaluronic based hydration serum with our Jet Peel treatment. (Read about all about it here.) Due to the pressure of this treatment, it causes little micro channels to appear in the skin, allowing the hyaluronic to penetrate the lower levels of the skin, which it wouldn’t’t be able to do on its own. This gives the skin a more youthful appearance.
Rescu. Roadtest of Restylane Skincare range.
We have been road-testing the range for the past few weeks and can’t get over the amazing results. This excellent value and high performance range is a must have for dry, parched and generally tired looking skin. Hyaluronic acid infuses every cell and skin is plump and juicy within hours of application. We think the stand out products of the range are the very excellent day cream, the hand cream is truly anti-ageing, and you will be impressed with the short and long term effects the night serum has on your skin. In short, well done Restylane. Nice to know we have this range to go to, as we are a bit scared of needles!
