By now we have had our festivity fun. You may already be back in the full swing of the daily grind or starting to wind down from your holiday break…either way the body has been through the wringer and it’s time to get it back to its optimal, physically and mentally.
I have some great tips to speed up this process and get you back to your best sooner rather than later with a 5 day cleanse.
It’s amazing how the body has the ability to heal itself when you give it a chance. Once we stop the overindulging it starts to rid toxicity. There is a process to detoxing however and it will take a good 5 days to feel back to normal.
Bridget’s 5 Day Cleanse Results

IT IS IMPORTANT TO MENTION HERE THAT IN THE FIRST 2 – 3 DAYS THE ABOVE SYMPTOMS MAY GET WORSE BEFORE THEY GET BETTER.
A lot of clients have experienced bloating, depression and extreme fatigue during the initial detox process. Withdrawals from processed sugar, alcohol and nicotine are tough, but, there is a light at the end of the tunnel so we need to hang in there.
At the end of a detox or cleanse expect to feel;

- Positive disposition
- Increased productivity
Sounds great to me…I am in! So here’s how it works;
DAY 1-3
Stop taking majority of the supplements you are currently on (if any) and follow the below for the next 5 days;
Have a complete break from protein or animal meat – I know shock horror right! This is to bring the body back to an optimal PH balance, or in other words take it from an acidic environment to an alkaline one, however, we will be supplementing with BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids), the building blocks of protein, so that we do not lose our important fat burning muscle mass during our meat free days.
Capsule form BCAA is the most ideal as they will be in their purest form. The brands that taste “sweet “will defeat the purpose of taking them as they are generally loaded with artificial flavours that your liver then has to process!
Use organic and filtered water where possible to avoid xenoestogens (foreign toxicity) from pesticides and heavy metals from tap water.
UPON ARISING
Glass of warm water (boiled first or filtered) with half a fresh lemon squeezed.
This is to alkalise the body to combat the high acid environment caused by toxins.

MEAL 1
Fresh juicing is recommended here.
Combine carrot, celery, kale and other greens along with loads of ginger and beetroot to increase antioxidant properties and speed up the detox process.
As for the busy person, substitute the fresh juice for 1-2 tbsps. Super Greens powder best mixed with filtered water.
TAKE 5-10 CAPSULES of BCAA with this meal.
MEAL 2
I recommend functional or medical food. There are 2 awesome ones on the market Estrogenomics Px and Inflam Px. One is for foreign oestrogen clearance the other is for inflammation. Both two are essential for a full cleanse of the body and are quite filling so you will not be hungry. They are packed with nutrition to help the liver kidneys and gastrointestinal tract.
Rotate the functional foods daily. Add 2 scoops with water and shake thoroughly.
MEAL 3
1 x large serving of mixed vegetables. Eat until full, in other words it’s an unlimited portion.
This can include any greens and or coloured plant based vegies.
Take 2 x Multi Vitamins (pharmaceutical grade)
TAKE 5-10 CAPSULES of BCAA with this meal
ADD IN 200gms WHITE SEAFOOD TO MEAL 3 AFTER DAY 3 and cease taking BCAA. If you don’t eat seafood substitute with chicken or turkey.
ALSO when meat is introduced add in HLC (digest support formula) or ADD 2 x probiotic (pharmaceutical grade)
MEAL 4
2 Scoops of medical/functional food in water. Alternatively fresh juicing is sufficient here.
MEAL 5
1 x large serving of mixed vegetables. Eat until full, in other words it’s an unlimited portion.
This can include any greens and or coloured plant based vegies.
Take 2 x Multi Vitamins (pharmaceutical grade)
TAKE 5-10 CAPSULES of BCAA with this meal
ADD IN 200gms WHITE SEAFOOD TO MEAL 5 AFTER DAY 3 and cease taking BCAA. If you don’t eat seafood substitute with chicken or turkey.

PRE BED
1 large tbsp. on grainless fibre. This can be flax lignans, slippery elm or psyllium husk etc. Mix thoroughly with filtered water.
THINGS TO NOTE
- Try to avoid caffeine
Yes that includes coffee. Your body builds up a tolerance to it so it’s good to have a rest. You may find you need less after to get the same wake up buzz - Sleep when you can
Napping is good through a detox if you have the luxury to do so. Perhaps start it on the weekend so you have the opportunity to sleep. This will speed up the detoxing process as your body will be at complete rest. - Keep training at higher volumes higher rest periods
This keeps the body from losing muscle as your protein intake will be lower and the higher rest period will make the training less intense, for example, when training legs choose 4 exercises, complete 6 sets of each with at least 60 secs rest in between. Try not to train for more than 45 mins at a time.
SO WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE 5 DAYS?
After the 5 days it’s important to reintroduce red meats and other protein sources into your 5 meals along with good fats.
You also should continue on the digest support with Breakfast Lunch and Dinner or alternatively a probiotic. Continue to take multi vitamin and seek regular treatments like infrared sauna, acupuncture and massage to stay on top of environmental toxicity.
