Cannes has come to a close for another year, Amanda Bynes took to Twitter in a tirade against Rihanna over the weekend, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been named the face of ModelCo cosmetics.

The past two weeks of Nicole Kidman’s red carpet frocks, Leonardo DiCaprio’s womanizing antics, and general Cannes fun have absolutely flown by and it’s hard to believe we’re already wrapping it up.
Orlando Bloom, who is usually behind-the-scenes on Flynn duty while Miranda Kerr flies around the world, was in the spotlight at the event over the weekend as he promoted his new film, and the closing film for the event, Zulu.
As he stood with co-star Forest Whitaker it was clear the two had become close during filming as they talked and laughed together like old friends.
The film that took the top prize at the festival was a controversial one one – called Blue is the Warmest Colour, the film is an audacious lesbian love story by French-Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche.
Spielberg award the prize to Kechiche and the film’s two stars – Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux, – who were shocked and thrilled to have received such a high accolade.
Of the film, a Hollywood Reporter critic said, “Sure to raise eyebrows with its show-stopping scenes of non-stimulared female copulation, the film is actually much more than that – it’s a passionate, poignantly handled love story.”
The Grand Prix award, the runner-up, went to Joel and Ethan Coen’s Inside Llewyn Davis which stars Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake and Oscar Isaac.
This is the second Cannes win for the Coen brothers who took out the main prize with Barton Fink in 1991.
With Cannes said and done for another year, we’ve got a whole new host of films to look forward to!
Every celebrity reporter in Hollywood had their eyes on Amanda Bynes over the weekend thanks to a series of events after her Thursday night arrest.
The Easy A star was arrested after building officials called the police to complain she was smoking pot in the lobby of the building. After the officers caught her with a bong on the kitchen counter, Bynes allegedly threw it out the window right in front of the police.
On Friday, Bynes appeared in court where she was charged with reckless endangerment, attempted tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana. Shortly after, the former Nickelodeon sweetheart took to Twitter in a vicious attack against Rihanna saying, “Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough.”
She later deleted the tweet but not before Rihanna responded with, “Ya see what happens why they cancel Intervention?” Bynes responded, “unlike your fugly faced self I don’t do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met your ugly face in person. U aren’t pretty u know know!”
Twenty-seven year old Bynes has been the subject of public scrutiny lately thanks to a series of bizarre public behaviours and is due back in court on July 9.
Here’s hoping this court case ends with the young star in a rehabilitation facility where she can steer clear of paparazzi and get the help she so clearly needs.
Rosie Huntington-Whitely has been named the latest ambassador to tan in a can geniuses ModelCo. The model, actor, and Victoria’s Secret angel is headed to Hayman Island this July for a shoot for the brand’s sure-to-be huge summer advertising campaign.
The 26-year-old ‘it’ girl said, “I’m so excited to be working with ModelCo. We all want a quicker, smarter way to look and feel glamorous and ModelCo is a trustworthy brand that makes me feel exactly like that. I love beauty products that not only deliver what they promise but make my life easier too. As I am constantly travelling or working, ModelCo’s innovative, dual purpose, glamour-on-the-go products really resonate with my lifestyle.”
We can’t wait to see the summer campaign!
