By Claire Fabb
La Prairie Skin Caviar Collection – morning and night.
I’ve been using La Prairie ever since I hosted a beautiful event at David Jones for the brand 3 years ago. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing facial, consultation and then I was h.o.o.k.e.d. Skin for me is where I indulge the most as I’m obsessed it. What do they say? Love the skin you’re in? I’m sure it’s meant in another way but I’m going to run with it…
Lancome Hypnose mascara. If I didn’t wear mascara I would actually look like an albino kangaroo as my eyelashes are blonde at the end. So mascara is my every day wear item. I’ve tried them all and this fabulous beast is best.
Estee Lauder – Advanced Night Repair. It does, I swear.
Nars – lips. As I mentioned previously I really don’t wear much make-up and wearing a lip? It must be a special occasion! I’m not one who goes to the powder room to do-touch ups so I like a lip product that moisturises and stays on. Nars has been a wonderful product discovery from way back when.
Diptique Doson – It’s my signature scent. I adore it. I first discovered it when I bought it for a friend of mine for her birthday years ago. And then I bought one for myself. (That’s bad isn’t it? Not quite an Indian giver…but close!)
Mac eyeliner – I ADORE a pencil. As much as I’d love a liquid liner I tend to be on the run in the morning getting my girls ready for school and time is of the essence. You know when you can literally get ready and not even have to look in the mirror you’re that fast? Yep. Mad for self-sharpening eyeliner.
Johnson and Johnson Talcum Powder – How amazing is that feeling when you have crisp freshly washed sheets, you’ve just come out of the shower and you’re about to climb into bed? This for me is the time I adore and I’ll lightly dust myself in talcum powder and I literally fall into a deepest of sleepzzzzzzzz. This is a habit that comes from my childhood, I’ve made it an after bath ritual for my daughters since they were young and now my girls love it as much as I do.
Concealer – Hourglass from Sephora. Being a working mum on the run, I get tired. And when I get tired I get dark circles under my eyes. They’re not pretty and I’d rather people be looking at my baby blues rather than my dark purples. Hourglass I hadn’t actually heard of before, however one of the delightful sales assistants introduced me to this and it’s been pretty good. Most concealers I find quite dry but his one does the trick.
Tinted Moisturiser – Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisuturiser. I like it light. I like it even and I like for my skin to be able to breathe. If I need a bit of extra TLC in the skin department or if I’m hosting an event and need some extra coverage with the blaring lights, this is my go to.
Nails – Is it weird that I don’t like seeing my bare toe nails? I just feel a bit naked. They prefer to be dressed with a nice dark, almost purple shade and my pick is Lincoln Park After Dark, by OPI.
