After numerous delays due to illness, Ellen DeGeneres has finally landed in Sydney. The talk-show queen and her wife Portia De Rossi arrived to a cheering, wolf-whistling crowd of Aussie fans and a performance of Men at Work’s ‘Down Under’ by the Qantas choir just this morning. A very excited Ellen showed off some of her famous dance moves, sending the super fans, some of whom had travelled more than two hours in hopes of getting a glimpse of the star, into full-blown hysterics.
Soon after, the star and her entourage were whisked away and taken to their hotel (hint to the fans: rumour has it she’s staying at the Intercontinental) where we’re sure she and Portia will be relaxing ahead of a huge weekend in Sydney.
Rumours have been flying about the possibility of Beyonce being in cahoots with H&M for months now and today they’ve proved true. The superstar has been officially announced as the new face of the fashion empire.
In the new ad campaign, the 31-year-old songstress lounges on a Bahamas beach wearing a super cute summer ensemble and a flower in her hair. She is advertising some of the looks from the new summer collection, which she, of course, had a hand in designing, and word is her new track ‘Standing on the Sun’ will be played in the television advertisements.
In the campaign, Bey is referred to has ‘Beyonce as Mrs. Carter’ – a title the star has been adopting more and more since her she announced the name of her tour, ‘The Mrs Carter Show’.
This morning it was announced that after five years of campaign shoots, runways, and appearances for David Jones, Miranda Kerr has stepped down from her role as fashion ambassador.
Kerr’s $1 million-a-year contract with the retail giant is set to expire next year and after negotiations, both parties agreed to call it quits. David Jones CEO, Paul Zahra, said, “We will forever consider Miranda part of the David Jones family. We have loved being on this journey with Miranda and feel privileged to not only have ben a part of it but to watch Miranda’s remarkable success and growth.”
All this begs the question – who will fill those very fashionable shoes and join other brand ambassadors Megan Gale, Montana Cox, Gai Waterhouse and Emma Freedman in this game of model shuffle?
The answer – model Jessica Gomes.
The Perth-born beauty appeared on the DJs runway earlier this year for the unveiling of the store’s autumn/winter collection. Rescu. resident stylist Josh Flinn spoke to the model ahead of the show – watch the interview below.
