Five chic and easy office hairstyles! In between shovelling your breakfast and legging it for public transport to the office every morning, you’ll be forgiven if red-carpet-ready tresses are the last thing on your mind. However, some work places may not call for the frizzy, half-wet, matted mess we like to call our office hair, so, we’ve called on a little help from the experts to give us the best quick ‘n’ easy hair do’s to get us through the working week.
One of our fave hair experts, Barney Martin, of the Barney Martin Salon in Sydney’s Surry Hills, came to our rescue when we were in dire need of some fab hairstyles to get us through the working week.
Monday – Go for a fresh, clean blow-dry.
Try using the VS Sassoon Venezia 2400 AC Professional Dryer ($142.95). Start at the nape, wrapping small sections around a round natural bristle brush and working up the head in stages. Because this is such a powerful dryer this will be a relatively quick process.
Tuesday – Centre-part Twist
Take a centre parting, then take two sections and twist the hair back until they meet in the centre and pin in place with the rest of your hair down. For quick, easy and discreet pinning, try the Scunci Grooming Bobbi Pins in Black, Browne and Blonde ($6.95)
Wednesday – Side/ Front Braid
French braid the front section of your hair – great for day or two old hair. If your hair looks a little drab from not having had a recent wash, try Rescu. loves the TIGI CATWALK SESSION SERIES™: Transforming Dry Shampoo ($29.95) for instant shine and volume.
Thursday – High Pony Tail/ Messy Top Knot
Pull unruly mid-week hair into a high pony tail, or convert into a messy top knot – Back comb the root, smooth over and then tie into a high pony tail. Pin into bun to change the look. For a little extra shine spritz the weightless TONI&GUY Glamour Moisturising Shine Spray ($15.99)
Friday – Side swept slick pony tail
Take a side parting and pull your hair into a low pony tail at the nape of your neck or just to the side – spray any flyways with hairspray, we suggest the John Frieda FRIZZ-EASE® Original Formula Hair Serum ($23.99) that transforms moderate frizz into polished, smooth hair.
