Be visual
It’s true that a picture is worth a thousand words! You can include up to six photos on your profile, and the more the better. Make sure to use high-quality, recent photos where you’re doing the activities you love and that show your personality.
Share your hobbies and interests in your bio.
Highlight three things that make you stand out. Be positive and show you have a sense of humour. You can also use our Badges feature to easily communicate information about yourself like your height, star sign, religion, what type of relationship you are looking for, how active you are etc. All these things will make it much easier for your match when you start chatting!
Once you’ve connected and it’s time to make the first move, don’t be afraid! Our research tells us
that the men on Bumble love that women make the first move. If you are unsure of what to say, you can use our “conversation starters” feature that provides some example opening lines to help you break the ice and get a chat going. You’re more likely to get swiped right on if you say something more personal than just “hey!”.
The most effective opening lines have an element of humour or open the conversation in a way that encourages the other person to respond – for example referencing something you noticed in their bio or photos that you have in common. Also don’t forget to make it personal by using their name!
