Liquid nose jobs or non-surgical Rhinoplasties have been buzzing around the internet for the past few years due to their immense popularity. It’s easy to see why too! As viewers we see the instant gratification of somebody who was unhappy with their appearance, then bam, seconds later somebody who is beaming from ear to ear. We spoke with Dr. Joseph Hkeik, cosmetic physician and director of the All Saints Clinics in Sydney to learn more about liquid nose jobs.
The procedure is ideal for someone who desires a small nose reshaping or for those who are contemplating but not committing to surgery. Minuscule drops of dermal filler are slowly injected and while they are tiny, they can make a huge different in the shape of the nose.
Dr. Joseph Hkeik was actually one of the first clinicians to perform the non-surgical nose jobs using injectable dermal fillers. He says that the procedure may be quick, but it isn’t easy! Non-surgical rhinoplasties require a great knowledge of anatomy and technical skill -so do not contemplate this unless you are sure the clinician is very experienced. Anatomically, the nose is a very intricate facial feature and serious complications can occur without that extra knowledge and experience.
Who are liquid nose jobs for?
Typically, the procedure is popular amongst young adults who wish to rebalance the nose while the older desire to rejuvenate their look as it is a very effective anti-aging procedure.
The non-surgical procedure has equal popularity amongst both men and women. Many male sporting stars flock to All Saints for this procedure. According to Dr. Hkeik, it is often the first injectable procedure his patients have. As the results typically last from 9-16 months, many chose to include it in their yearly treatment program.
Post procedure, there may be some bruising or swelling. This usually only occurs in about 10% of the patients and lasts only a few days.
