Restylane Vital Skinbooster injectable
Is the miracle Skinbooster injectable all it’s cracked up to be?
Rescu. Founder and Editor put the wrinkle-ridding treatment to the test, trying the Restylane Vital Skinbooster on her face area. Read below to discover the the nitty-gritty details of the procedure with Natalie Abouchar, Director of Privee Clinic
RESCU: Tell us about the treatment?
Natalie Abouchar: The treatment is Restylane Vital, also referred to as a skinbooster. The skin booster is a dermal filler containing hyaluronic acid, drawing a lot of hydration to the surface of the skin. It gives a minimal amount of volume/skin plumping effect, but gives a boosted hydrating effect to the skin, leaving your face with a dewy glow. It works well on open and large pores, dehydrated skin and skin that’s lacking moisture. It’s like an injectable facial.
RESCU: How long does it take before you see results?
Natalie Abouchar: You’ll see results immediately on the day of the treatment in the initial inflammatory response. Then you’ll see the hydration after the inflammatory response wears off. Each week you will see improvement, with full results showing at around 3 – 4 weeks after the treatment. The treatment typically lasts for about 6 months.
Before
RESCU: What is it doing to your skin to get the results?
Natalie Abouchar: The Restylane skin booster draws water to the surface of the skin, so over the coming weeks as more water gets absorbed into the filler it pumps out more and hydrates your skin.
RESCU: What about the collagen stimulation?
Natalie Abouchar: The treatment itself has 2 different techniques of doing it. Either with a multiple punctures technique with a needle or with a cannula; both techniques stimulate the collagen. So a little bit of trauma to the skin creates that inflammatory response and then new collagen is produced.
We’re going to do cannula today, because we want overall hydration. You get a more even coating, less trauma, less bruising and it is more comfortable. The cannula is really like a lunchtime treatment.
RESCU: How much does this treatment cost?
Natalie Abouchar: Around $990, and it lasts for 6 months.
After
VERDICT:
RESCU: Initially, it was hard to get my head around the idea that an injectable was different to filler as I am quite gun shy about filler in my face having seen so many horror stories. Natalie assured me that the treatment was an all over plumping and regenerating booster that would stimulate my skin’s own ability to re-activate collagen and absorption of moisture. Basically, it would trick my skin to behaving like it was in its 20’s instead of its 40’s…
