Naomi Campbell Talk Show Is In The Works
She’s not exactly the supermodel we’d ever have imagined wanted to discuss current events with the riff-raff.
However, Naomi Campbell is currently ‘in talks’ to host her very own talk show.
Her spokesman declared that there were ‘offers on the table’ – showbiz speak for pitching the pilot to numerous different networks around the world, perhaps.
Oprah’s network OWN might be on that list. They have, after all, given Lindsay Lohan her own show, and she’s not renowned for getting on with people either.
The pros? A Naomi talk show would feature some very high-class connections. She’s been in the business for nearly 30 years, and knows everybody from the newest models to the power players behind the scenes.
Maybe there could be a reunion of the famous Supers – we’d love to know how Christy Turlington is going. And her new work with the Diversity Coalition could lead to very interesting discussions with fashion heads about racism in the modelling world.
The cons? Naomi’s previous appearances on talk shows and television have showcased her main strength: complete alpha domination. If you want your host to be a warm, Ellen Degeneres type who does feel-good stories and giveaways, she may not be the fit for you.
If, however, you’re looking for a host who corrects every guest’s outfit and cosmetic choices, as she famously did when co-host Coco Rocha wore purple lipstick on The Face last year, she might be the one for you.
The rumour mill whispers that both Coco Rocha and Karolina Kurkova quit after one season with Naomi on The Face – but when she’s the star of her own show, who needs to get on with co-stars?
Would you watch a Naomi Campbell talk show? One thing’s for sure – she’ll look divine.

Dolce & Gabanna Ready-To-Wear: Get The Look For Less
The Dolce & Gabanna show was chock-full of great ideas for summer, from coin prints to delectable cherry blossoms to innovative uses of black lace.
Unfortunately, it’s all at stratospheric pricing.
So here is RESCU’s guide to getting the Dolce look for a more modest budget, just in time for the hot weather. Taking inspiration from Sicily and the Italian isle, it’s one of their most adaptable collections yet, and we’re going to show you how to do it.
The use of ancient Greek iconography was a big influence – prints of columns were a particular note on many dresses. We love Carven’s column dress for $AU400, or for a much more budget look, River Island’s ‘marble-print’ dress for a tenth of the price. And then there’s that marble design-inspired zip front Cue dress in silk.
The other major print? Cherry blossoms. Fortunately for bargain hunters, cherry blossom prints are all over the shops – try Bec & Bridge’s oriental tee dress, Ted Baker’s gorgeous sleeved version or, over at Modcloth, a minidress called Mayor Ozaki, after the man who brought cherry blossoms to Washington DC. Or there’s always AWear’s delicious cotton cherry T-shirt.
For the typically Italian over-the-top hoop earrings, we recommend ASOS – their Cameo Doorknocker earrings, in gold and black, are dead ringers for the coin motif used on the D&G catwalk, and their on-sale Dome Chandelier earrings add a note of opulence in silver. Ditto the Fibonacci earrings over at Mimco – they add a black edge.
The D&G styling was a central part, braids on the head and a crown of flowers. Luckily, their floral headbands are very easy to imitate – nab yourself a Topshop Premium jewelled flower headband and you’re ready to go. For even more of a bargain find the on-sale Mimco Oceana Beaded Alice Band, now $15 from their website.
Gold, gold, gold was the way forward too – gold dresses, jewellery and coin prints everywhere. Luckily for you, Bill Skinner has done a range (available at ASOS) inspired by the same Roman coinage, at a much cheaper price. We’re loving the Emperor Bracelet. And if you’re feeling cheeky, Diesel has a coin-print men’s t-shirt to be tucked into jeans.
And the last key look? Black lace over a black bra. Get the look with Topshop’s black lace kaftan, The Kooples black lace cape and your best plain black bra.
Wear with opulent yet inexpensive wedges – New Look’s gerbera cork wedges, or the Mila style at Forever New – and you’ve got the look nailed.

Kanye West’s Feud With Fendi And Hedi Slimane
Kanye West has lashed out at Fendi and Hedi Slimane, declaring that he’s more fashion-savvy than either of them.
The particular case he uses? Leather jogging pants.
According to West, he submitted designs to Fendi six years ago, and they were all rejected – and now, years later, all his ideas have filtered into modern fashion.
“We were giving designs to Fendi over and over, and getting our designs knocked down,” he fumed to Interview Magazine. “We brought the leather jogging pant six years ago to Fendi, and they said no – how many mother f***** you done seen with a leather jogging pant?”
The leather slouchy trouser has indeed seen a bit of a renaissance recently. Rihanna is a big fan, and they’re now everywhere from Topshop to Gucci.
It’s unclear whether Kanye believes Fendi stole his ideas, or merely didn’t recognise his genius – but when it comes to Hedi Slimane, now at Saint Laurent, he definitely views his thunder as stolen.
“So when I see Hedi Slimane and it’s all like this is my take on the world. Yeah, he got some nice $5000 jeans in there…. It’s been like that for a minute, Hedi Slimane. It’s been like that for a minute.”
Neither Fendi nor Hedi Slimane has given any response about Kanye’s rant, which was part of an extensive interview in which he claimed himself to be better than Michael Jackson and announced his intentions to begin a product empire, ‘from architecture to bottled water’.
What do you think – full of hot air or onto something?
