While we enjoyed our Queen’s Birthday long weekend, stars flocked to New York City’s Radio City Music Hall for the 67th Annual Tony Awards.
Red carpet highlights including past Tony winner and presenter Scarlett Johansson in a Saint Laurent little black dress, Sienna Miller in blush Burberry Prorsum, and Sigourney Weaver in a one-shoulder electric blue gown.
As much as we love Anna Kendrick, she was a bit of a red carpet let down in her navy, strapless Donna Karan Atelier gown which was just a touch too high school formal for the event. The fabulous Neil Patrick Harris played host for the night for the fourth time, opening with a show-stopping number that involved the How I Met Your Mother star doing circus tricks and cheerleading, dancers, magicians, and even a visit from Mike Tyson.
With the opener said and done, Neil Patrick Harris declaired, “well, that’s our budget, good night” before presenter Zachary Quinto took the stage to present and said, “that’s the definition of a tough act to follow.”
From there, the awards were rolling and the big winners of the night proved to be Kinky Boots, which took out several awards including Best Musical, Pippin, and Matilda.
On Sunday night, Sydney’s The Star lived up to its name, bringing one of the biggest stars in the world to their red carpet. The celeb in question was, of course, Brad Pitt, whose highly anticipated visit was all thanks to the debut of his new film World War Z.
Pitt flew in to Sydney airport on a private jet on Sunday morning with son Pax. After a couple of photos, the father-son pair were shuffled in to a black Audi before being driven off to check out the sites and enjoy an Aussie barbeque on the Harbour ahead of the evening event at The Star.
Angelina was noticeably absent for the event but the hoards of fans who gathered at the entrance to the venue didn’t seem to mind one bit.
Ahead of the screening, Pitt gave a short speech saying, “This has been six years in the making. I see no more reason to muck about — let’s get this party started.” World War Z hits cinemas on June 20.
More and more celebs are successfully keeping mum on the details of their weddings, disclosing not even a date and leaving the media to report only after the fact.
Over the weekend, two celebrity couples jumped on this trend and tied the knot. Former The Hills star Kristin Cavallari was the first – marrying long-time boyfriend and father of son Camden in a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee with 150 of their friends and family watching on.
After the ceremony, Kristin tweeted, “I’m officially Kristin Elizabeth Cutler!” along with a picture of their wedding rings. Cute!
Curtis Stone was the other celeb to walk down the aisle this weekend. He and Lindsay Price, who have been together for four years and have a son, Hudson, together, flew friends and family to the Hilton Sa Torre Mallorca Resort in Mallorca, Spain for their Saturday wedding.
Congratulations to the happy couples!
