From the ultra feminine ‘boudoir classique’ on Runway 3 to a more intricate braided knot on Runway 2, these are achievable looks you’re going to see on the street this season. We went backstage with the L’Oreal Professional Team to get their expert tips on how to get these looks right now.
Style 1: Boudoir Classique
Brad Ngata, Hair Director for Loreal Professionnel, said, “The hair gives a nod to the starlets of the 1940s – ultra feminine, soft full bodied curls, maximum shine. Think Hollywood glamour meets classic French boudoir”.
“The new part for hair is a low and deep side part, so we let the hair fall gently and seductively over the eye. The key too is minimal volume at the roots. The middle lengths and ends flowed down into even, cloud-like curls, creating a beautiful softness around the face”.
How to get the look
1. Start by double-moussing the hair with tecni.art Volume Lift. To double-mousse the hair, apply one layer of mousse, dry it in a little, then apply some more!
2. Next, create a low side part from the arch of the eyebrow, pulling the hair back to the crown. Then, completely dry off the hair, keeping the top lengths smooth.
3. Section the hair into three parts, left side, middle and right side. Beginning on one side, take a small section of hair; lightly spray with tecni.art pli and use medium curling tongs to create the curl. Make sure the hair is flat when you wrap it around the curling tong, this ensures you get the right curl formation.
4. Continue the process through the remaining middle lengths and ends in a brick layering fashion, wrapping the curl in the same direction every time. Pin each curl to the scalp and allow them to set and cool.
5. Once completely cooled, remove pins and gently brush hair downwards with a soft bristle brush, and shape lengths around the face. Finish with Elnett to hold style in place and spray a quick mist of tecni.art Crystal Gloss for true Hollywood shine.

Style 2: Tied up in knots
Two looks were created for the Runway 2 show. Hair Director for L’Oréal Professionnel Caterina Di Biase created both shapes by combining two textures together.
Caterina said, “We’re playing a lot with texture with these looks, in particular, these styles are about combining various textures and techniques. The two variations give girls a runway look which is fresh and new, whilst is still versatile enough to be recreated at home.”
Caterina’s first look takes inspiration from both the 50s and the 80s, playing with a loose modern day quiff at the front and with an intricate braided up-style at the back.
The second look was tighter and neater with the hair twisted and knotted, all the way from the front to the nape.
How to achieve look 1
1. Double-mousse using tecni.art Volume Riche and tecni.art Volume Lift to build texture into the hair so it won’t slip. Dry in then section hair into two halves- top and bottom.
2. In the top section, create a side part and pin the hair flat against the scalp with bobby pins, parallel and on either side of the part.
3. Next, roll the hair into two French rolls towards the part, pushing the rolls forward gently to create an over-hanging quiff at the front. Secure with pins to hold into place.
4. The back section is braided on an angle, in an S-shape formation. Leave the end tuft of hair out as an added accent to finish this look.
TIP: If you can’t recreate the braid, try making three loose plaits at the back and pin them into a chignon.
5. Finish with Elnett hairspray to hold everything in place.
How to achieve look 2
1. Again, prep the hair by double-moussing (a backstage stylists’ term for layering mousse into the hair) with tecni.art Volume Riche and tecni.art Volume Lift. Blow dry in.
2. Starting at the top, create three pony tails. The first pony an inch from the crown. The second just below the crown and the third above the nape.
3. Next combine the three pony tails by twisting them into shape and securing with pins.
4. Finish with L’Oréal Professionnel Elnett to hold the style in place.
